Why Calvinist Cannot Defend Their Doctrine of a Limited Atonement

You teach that millions for whom Christ took a whipping for shall nevertheless take a whipping for the same wrong doings!

They might if they don't believe in Jesus.

The Bible teaches that Jesus has atoned for the sins of the world, 1 John 2:2.

But if you don't receive it, you are lost. John 1:12.

so how do any of those satisfied sins become unsatisfactory to the Father?

There is a universal atonement where Jesus atoned for the sins of the whole world, 1 John 2:2 and is now "King of Kings and Lord of Lords".

And then there is an individual atonement, John 3:16.

Those that believe that Jesus is their savior and the savior of the whole world will receive the individual atonement, "He that believes on him is not condemned" John 3:18.

Individual atonement of what?

Are you saying that the "universal atonement" (as you call it) is only temporary until the judgment and is then completed by our individual faith?

No one would be able to be saved if Jesus had not defeated sin, death and the devil, Colossians 2:15.

But now that he has, salvation is available to all who do nothing more than... "Whosoever that shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved" Romans 10:13.

Salvation is not yours if you don't receive it as a free gift from God, John 1:12.

If there was one sin that Jesus did not atone for, he would not be in heaven at the right hand of God, Hebrews 7:24-28.

There are plenty of sins Christ didn't atone for, all the sins of them He didn't die for, that is why they die in their sins in unbelief!

Is my conclusion in my previous post correct then?

It sounds to me like this "universal atonement" was nothing more than a stay of execution until the judgment, at which point only faith secures salvation?

Right,

And it fits with scripture. Jesus has atoned for the sins of the whole world, 1 John 2:2. In doing this Jesus has reconciled ALL THINGS unto God because God sees ALL THINGS in Christ, Colossians 1:20.

But this does not mean that everyone is saved.

When Christ returns there will be a judgment to see who is in Christ and who isn't. You might call it the judgment of believers and unbelievers. They will be identified by the Holy Spirit, which is God's mark of ownership. Those without the Holy Spirit will be condemned because they do not believe. Those that have the Holy Spirit will be saved.

Yet you don't believe the Gospel of Gods Grace in Christ, TULIP!

So when you say that Jesus is the savior of the world, what you mean is that He saved the world from immediate Judgment?
