do you agree that an abused wife who commits adultery is blameless?

I believe she can and should leave her abusive relationship and seek a safer one. This does not necessarily render her "blameless" yet I feel she's fully justified in doing so.

Well, no, your idea of "justice" is rooted in legalism, the likes of which I have no desire to see in the West.

Saying it doesn't make it so, Brain.

Legalism is excessive adherence to law or formula.

God is not a legalist. He gave four laws (which can be broken down into other laws) out of the ten commandments that pertain to all societies.

Do not murder.
Do not steal.
Do not commit adultery.
Do not bear false witness.

These are the bare minimum needed for any society to function.

It's a dumb question.

This is an appeal to the stone. A logical fallacy.

Because putting people away for adultery is ridiculous.

Another logical fallacy, appeal to ridicule.

When your position is based on logical fallacies, it's most likely a bad position to have.

It only aggravates any problems that might arise from the act itself.

Problems?

What problems?

Had there been a death penalty for adultery, I would have never met the woman who became my wife, and my life would be completely different than it is now, because she would not have even considered cheating on her current husband.

So it's all her fault? How come you didn't know she was already married?

When did you stop beating your wife?

This is called a loaded question.

Completely different to asking someone what their belief is on something and then asking a follow-up question.

Oh please, I have no desire to see your legalist nonsense in modern society, aka folk being flogged or stoned to death etc.

She never told me.

I do remember asking her if she was in a relationship, and she said no.

And that was that.

And no, not all her fault. Fault also lies with the system.

Your saying it doesn't make it so. It's my opinion you are being too hard-headed in this matter to even listen.

All those problems you were mentioning....like the poor kids. What will it do to the kids to have their mother put to death for committing adultery? They might even end up blaming the dad for not treating their mother with more respect and love. Kids see things, and they love their mother. That I can guarantee.

It is when the self-righteous feel the need to exact punishment.
So God is self-righteous?

Should I list the multiple places in scripture where the punishments for the four crimes above are written?

Yes, the way you would like to impose things, absolutely. You're just yet another legalist.
I'm just sharing what's in the Bible. Which means you're calling it's Author, God Himself, a legalist.

Wow, sounds like you got to know her really well before getting into the relationship...
