Interesting. I stopped thinking about the points at all, just liked handing out encouraging notes and jokes and bits like that.


I think the only thing they ever really counted as was the foundation, cementing and acknowledgement of affection or respect or both.

I liked the blue star. that was all I cared about the rep thingy. It would have been neat if the blue star got bigger, and bigger, then bounced around some, then exploded! The rep was not doing anything other than being a symbol of past peer approval.
Oh, BTW. you gad the blue star too/ maybe Knight will sell them as tolkien of past icons?

Just like here, I have some of my FB contact on ignore because I don't want to see ALL the things like one of my cousins who is an animal advocate and one of my friends who posts nothing but army stuff because he is ex army.
It's MY FB so I only want what I want to see. Feel I have that right.

Ok at the extreme risk of getting banned, here is a Super Secret for those who are rep happy. My thorough analysis and research reveals (I thought) that Gold Members or above who are also Hall of Famers receive more rep points.

But this turned out to be wrong. But I have observed some get more pts, and my guess is they are SOOTS.

Seems like a reversal of progress or positivity, which seems to be the primary purpose of the rep system to begin with,....which affords the opportunity to give positive feedback and edify others. I for one would not complain about getting neg reps,...since it has no positive value or encouragement to my person.

And you aren't embarrassed by that? … That there's a clique of TOL favorites rigging the system and then sitting around furiously 'repping' each other so they can appear to be so much more popular than everyone else?
