Eloquently spoken!

And this was the same experiential knowledge that two of Christ's disciples,
members of His own Body, His Church, encountered when they met Jesus
and He broke bread where they lived. The very Word of God Himself explaining the scriptures to them!

Luke 24:32 And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us,
while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?

That word opened, dianoigo, also means: C. to open the mind of one, i.e. to cause to understand a thing;
i. to open one's soul, i.e. to rouse in one the faculty of understanding or the desire of learning.

It was being the Power of God unto (eis) them; His Words so penetrated their hearts
that it caused them to burn
(kaiō) within them!

John Gill comments on Luke 24:32:

"...did not our hearts burn within us while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the Scriptures? concerning himself, his sufferings, death, and resurrection, which are in Moses, the Prophets, and the Psalms. The Scriptures are as a sealed book to men, learned and unlearned; and none so fit to open them as the lion of the tribe of Judah: he did open and explain them to these his disciples, as well as conversed with them about other things, as they travelled together; and his words came with such evidence, power, and sweetness, that they were ravished with them; their minds were irradiated with beams and rays of divine light; their hearts were warmed and glowed within them; they became fervent in spirit, and their affections were raised and fired; they found the word to be as burning fire within them; and they now knew somewhat what it was to be baptized with fire, which is Christ's peculiar office to administer; see Psalm 39:3 they seem as it were not only to reflect on these things with wonder and pleasure, but also to charge themselves with want of thought, with inattention and stupidity; since they might have concluded from the uncommon evidence, force, and energy with which his words came to them, who he was, seeing no man could speak as he did, and with such effect as his words had."

Amen, Excellent reading and quite edifying!

Everyone in Judaism thought that it was the Law that was going to be taken to the nations. They even thought Christ was an aggressive teacher of that at first. They now realized that his sacrifice and forgiveness through it was the message to be taken. Judaism generally did not think of the prophets as divine, only the torah (the 'trinity' of Judaism is God--torah--'eretz [land]). So when a person in Judaism, like the disciples were, realized that the prophets were speaking of Christ not torah, it was an explosion of sorts, and certainly as thought they had gone from blindness to sight.

Sorry, but the Gospel is hid to them that are Lost !

Sorry, but the Gospel is hid to them that are Lost !

2 Cor 4:3-4

3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:

4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

And the reason being, satan, the god of this world [while in a lost state experimentally] hath blinded their minds, resulting in they believe not [the Gospel Truth] !

Many have failed to realize that satan, the devil, by the purpose and permitting of God is the author/ initiator of the unbelief of the Lost !

It started with the first natural parents of the elect, Adam and Eve, when he caused Eve to question God's forbidding them to eat of the Tree of the knowledge of good and evil Gen 3:1-6

Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:

3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.

4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:

5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

God had stated that if they eat, they shall surely die Gen 2:16-17

16 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:

17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

The serpent contradicted what God said and said to her :

4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:

And he convinced her to eat, under the delusion that she would not surely die ! So who did she obviously believe ? She believed the Lie of the serpent, which obviously meant she did not believe God, which is unbelief, thats where it began for man in Adam, and as a consequent God enclosed/shut up all in adam in unbelief Rom 11:32

32 For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.

That word concluded, if you study it, it means to enclose/shut in, its the greek word sugkleió :

I enclose, shut in, make subject to.

Its sorta like an imprisonment, man by nature is in lost in a imprisonment of unbelief !

Thats why Jesus says His Mission was to set the prisoners free Isa 61:1

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;

That word bound means :

to tie, bind, imprison

This is the prison of unbelief we are lost in because of Eves disobedience, which was also Adams !

As long as we are in prison/lost by nature, the Gospel is hid to us, and we will believe not !

And satan the devil is the author/ initiator of it !

Sorry, but the Gospel is hid to them that are Lost !2

Sorry, but the Gospel is hid to them that are Lost !2

So it is, all the while we are in the flesh, in a state of nature, a lost state, we are under the power of the devil, the god of this world, Paul also says this about that state Eph 2:2-3

2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind;
and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

Thats every lost mans walk by nature, elect and non elect alike, they are under the prince of the power of the air, a spirit that bounds them to disobedience/unbelief !

Being in unbelief means that we are still under the power and control of the devil, by the will and permission of God.

But now here is the good news of what Christ has done, He has destroyed the works and the power od the devil Heb 2:14

14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death[and unbelief], that is, the devil;

1 Jn 3:8

8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

Which, one of those works of the devil is unbelief, initiated back in the garden by him !

This unbelief is a work of the devil is also seen from Lk 8:12

12 Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.

By this he holds us in the prison of unbelief ! We by nature suffer the fate of the wayside hearer or the Lost man of 2 Cor 4:3-4.

But now did Christ destroy the Power of the devil ? Yes, He most certainly did, but not for all people without exception, not for them who permanently remain in a lost state of unbelief, but He did for them He came to save, His People Matt 1:21 or the Seed of Abraham Heb 2:14-16

14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;

15 And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

16 For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham

The seed of Abraham is only a segment of Humanity, not all of it !

The Gospel, in its Salvation and Converting sense, was not for all mankind without exception, but for the seed of Abraham Gal 3:8

8 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.

This is a restatement of Gen 12:3

3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

Peter preached this Acts 3:25-26

25 Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed.

26 Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.

Notice in Vs 25, Jesus was raised up to who ? Unto You, being them of the jews who were children of the prophets, not natural children, but spiritual children of the Covenant God made with Abraham !

This is the spiritual seed of Abraham in union with Christ the Head of the Church Gal 3:16

16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.

Christ and His Seed, the Body of Christ are One !

They comprise Abrahams Seed that He came to help out of the fall Gal 3:29

29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

And its this seed Christ came to save Heb 2:16

16 For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham[Those who belong to Christ Gal 3:29].

The words took on as in took on him the seed of Abraham are epilambanomai and means:

I lay hold of, take hold of, seize (sometimes with beneficent, sometimes with hostile, intent).

It means in the specific text of Heb 2:16 this:

by a metaphor drawn from laying hold of another to rescue him from peril, to help, to succor

The greek reads : " The seed of Abraham He helps"

For surely it is not angels that he helps, but he helps the offspring of Abraham.ESV

For it is clear that he did not come to help angels. No, he came to help Abraham's descendants, ISV

For verily not to angels doth he give help, but he giveth help to the seed of Abraham.ASV

For verily not of angels doth he take hold, but he taketh hold of the seed of Abraham.ERV

This taking hold of is what Paul meant when he said that he was apprehended by Christ here Phil 3:12

12 Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.

That word apprehended katalambanó means:

(a) I seize tight hold of, arrest, catch, capture, appropriate, (b) I overtake, (c) mid. aor: I perceived, comprehended.

And its to these the Gospel is Preached in a matter of Salvation and Conversion, the Seed of Abraham that belongs to Christ Gal 3:29;Heb 2:16 !

Excellent 3-part study!

To the Spiritual Seed of Abraham, the Seed of Christ, to them the Gospel is the savour of Life unto Life.

But to the rest of humanity that is in a permanently lost state, the Preaching of the Gospel to them is
the savour of death unto death 2 Cor. 2:15-16 KJV. They are being reserved for Judgment 2 Pet. 2:9!

Yes, that is why many call the Gospel in unbelief and disdain, Calvinism, the words of a man, that is God causing it to be a savor of death to them and they don't know it!

Tulip is the Gospel of Gods Grace in Christ !

Tulip is the Gospel of Gods Grace in Christ !

The acronym Tulip are scriptural truths founded upon the scripture, that best describes and shines forth the Gospel of Gods Grace in Christ, they illustrate to us why it must be of Grace, it being Salvation, why 100 % of Salvation can only be attributed to the Triune Godhead, of Father, Son/Word, and Holy Ghost ! If we neglect, shun, or even flat out reject any one of the parts of TULIP, Total Depravity or Inability,Unconditional Election, Limited or Particular Atonement or Redemption, Irresistible Grace/efficacious call and perseverance or preservation of all those Christ died for unto Eternal Glory, if we disbelieve any one of these Truths taught in the Scripture of Truth, we disbelieve the Gospel of Gods Grace in Christ, and are presently in Unbelief and possibly, and more than likely under eternal condemnation !

Now with that stated, one of the Truths of the Gospel of Gods Grace conveyed in TULIP, is Unconditional Election, an Election of Grace Rom 11:5-7

5 Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.

6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.

7 What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded.

And this Truth being True, so is its necessary corollary of reprobation, in that God has unconditionally chosen a set number of people for the condemnation of their sins, this is by an Eternal Immutable Predetermined Decree that determined , before they were ever born, and did any evil, their Eternal Destiny , to be Christless forever !

This is a Essential Teaching of the Gospel of Gods Grace Rom 9 and, without it, there is no Gospel of Gods Grace !

How can man defeat the Power of God ?

How can man defeat the Power of God ?

Did you know that the Gospel of Christ is the Power of God ? Scripture states it here Rom 1:16

16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

And this being the case, we still have them who teaches , and that falsely, that The Gospel as the Power of God, can come to many and they can and do reject it, dont believe it, disobey it, not submit to it, even though its the Power of God !

Folks, dont you know that such teaching as that is an derogation of the Power of God ??

Listen, if the Gospel of Christ is the Power of God, and its being sent on a mission from God to be a Word of Salvation unto them, to persuade them, and yet that person can resist it, deny it, refuse it, reject it, not believe it, be unpersuaded by it, then guess what ? That person has defeated the Power of God, The Gospel ! Theres no other way to say it, we are in giving more power to man, the flesh of man, the will of man than we are to the Power of God, which is Blasphemous to say the least !

We are saying that Gods Power, the Day of His Power in the Gospel, failed to make that person willing as stated in Ps 110:3

3 Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth.

John Gill comments on this portion, being made willing in the day of thy power:

Thy people shall be willing in the day of that power..... Or, in the day of thine army (s). When thou musterest thy forces, sendest forth thy generals, the apostles and ministers of the word, in the first times of the Gospel; when Christ went forth working with them, and their ministry was attended with signs, and miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost; and which was a day of great power indeed, when wonderful things were wrought; the god of this world was cast out, the Heathen oracles ceased, their idols were abolished, and their temples desolate; and Christianity prevailed everywhere. Or this may respect the whole Gospel dispensation, the day of salvation, which now is and will be as long as the world is; and the doctrine of it is daily the power and wisdom of God to them that are saved. Or rather this signifies the set time of love and life to every particular soul at conversion; which is a day for light, and a day of power; when the exceeding greatness of the power of God is put forth in the regeneration of them: and the people that were given to Christ by his Father, in the covenant of grace, and who, while in a state of nature, are rebellious and unwilling, are made willing to be saved by Christ, and him only; to serve him in every religious duty and ordinance; to part with their sins and sinful companions, and with their own righteousness; to suffer the loss of all things for him; to deny themselves, and take up the cross and follow him: and when they become freewill offerings to him, as the word (t) signifies; not only willingly offer up their spiritual sacrifices of prayer and praise, but themselves, souls and bodies, to him; as well as enter volunteers (u) into his service, and cheerfully fight his battles, under him, the Captain of their salvation; being assured of victory, and certain of the crown of life and glory, when they have fought the good fight, and finished their course. The allusion seems to be to an army of volunteers, such as described by Cicero (w), who willingly offered themselves through their ardour for liberty.

Through the Gospel, the Power of God, Christ becomes Our Captain and we become His Willing Army Heb 2:9-10

9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

10 For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.

The Gospel makes them willing soldiers Josh 5:14

And he said, No; but as captain of the host of the LORD am I now come. And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and did worship, and said to him, What said my Lord to his servant?

Again Mr Gill comments:

but as Captain of the host of the Lord am I now come; of the host of the Lord both in heaven and in earth, angels and men, and particularly of the people of Israel, called the armies and host of the Lord, Exodus 7:4; so that though Joshua was general, Christ was Generalissimo; and so Joshua understood him, and therefore showed a readiness to do whatsoever he should command him; the spiritual Israel of God, the church, is in a militant state, and has many enemies to combat with, sin, Satan, the world, and false teachers; Christ is their Leader and Commander, the Captain of their salvation, and has all necessary qualifications or wisdom, courage, and might, for such an office; see Isaiah 55:4,

The Word Power in Rom 1:16 is the greek word dunamis and means:

(a) physical power, force, might, ability, efficacy, energy, meaning (b) plur: powerful deeds, deeds showing (physical) power, marvelous works

by metonymy, things or persons in which God's saving power shows its efficacy are called

Listen, the Gospel in the Day of Ones Salvation is the force, might, ability, efficacy of God when we are being Called by it 1 Cor 1:24

But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ[via the Gospel] the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

And yet we have many today in false religion that would tell us, that the Called of God , by His Gospel, can and do resist, defeat, frustrate the very Power of God by not believing, this is nothing short of a diminishment of Gods Power to the advancement of mans will !

Amen, and may the Lord continue to Bless you for persistently Preaching His Gospel of Grace with fervency!

It's impossible for anyone in their natural, carnal state, to accept and understand
these Truths of the Gospel of Salvation, also known as TULIP, and God's reprobation of all others,
because the Gospel is Spiritual and cannot be discerned by any who are void of the Spirit of God.

1 Cor. 2:14
But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him:
neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

So, the very fact that most are repulsed by these Gospel Truths, and mock them, is evidence of
their spiritually lost state, and if they remain in that state, then for them the preaching of the Gospel
is for their condemnation 2 Cor. 2:14-16 according to God's Will and purpose. Also, it proves that
Salvation was only for a remnant of humanity who shall believe the Gospel of God's Grace Acts 20:24
because God had ordained them to it Acts 13:48.

Sorry, but the Gospel is hid to them that are Lost !4

Sorry, but the Gospel is hid to them that are Lost !4

The Gospel is hid from them that are in a lost state, which means, one must be saved from a Lost state in order to hear and believe the Gospel, but in a Lost state, its hidden and we believe not 2 Cor 4:3-4

3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:

4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

Now in one sense the Gospel is hidden from even them that are saved [from the penalty of their sins] while they are in a experimentally lost state in unregeneracy and while being Gods enemies in the flesh Rom 5:10. However they shall eventually believe because they will be born again and experience the Sanctifying Work of the Spirit unto belief of the Truth 2 Thess 2:13, which saves them from their experimentally lost condition Titus 3:5; However there are some who are lost who shall remain so and never believe the Gospel, which are the Eternally Lost, the Reprobates, the goats, since they were never of Gods Sheep or Elect, they believe not Jn 10:26, neither were they ever ordained to Eternal Life Acts 13:48 !

I believe however 2 Cor 4:3-4 mainly is speaking of the non elect, which will and cannot never believe, because they will never be saved from a lost state, hence the Gospel will remain hidden from them !

It has not been given to all to believe the Gospel !

It has not been given to all to believe the Gospel !

It has not been given to all to believe the Gospel to believe the Gospel unto Salvation, the Mysteries of it Matt13:11

11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.

Now some may object by saying that Matt 13:11 doesnt say the Gospel, but the Mysteries of the Kingdom, but its all the same, thats why the Gospel is even called the Gospel of the Kingdom Matt 24:14;4:23, Paul as the Apostle to the Gentiles taught them the Gospel of the Kingdom Acts 28:28-31

28 Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it.

29 And when he had said these words, the Jews departed, and had great reasoning among themselves.

30 And Paul dwelt two whole years in his own hired house, and received all that came in unto him,

31 Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.

Preaching the Kingdom of God was part of that message " That the Salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles !

And of course we know that the Gospel of Christ is a Mystery 1 Cor 2:7;Eph 6:19;Rom 16:25; Sp Paul's Gospel that He Preached, that One which he had received 1 Cor 15:3-4 was according to the Revelation of the Mystery, See Col 4:3

3 Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds:

The Gospel Mysteries is not given to all to believe, its hid from them that are lost, all the Truths of the Gospel are hidded from the Lost 2 Cor 4:3-4

3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:

4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

John Gill writes of Matt 13:11

because it is given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven: by the "kingdom of heaven", is meant the Gospel, which treats of the kingdom of heaven, and of things pertaining to it; of the saints' meetness for it, which is the regenerating and sanctifying grace of the Spirit; and of their right to it, which lies in the justifying righteousness of Christ. The "mysteries" of it intend the sublime doctrines thereof; such as relate to the Trinity of persons in the Godhead, to the incarnation of Christ, and the union of the two natures, human and divine, in him, eternal predestination, redemption by Christ, satisfaction by his sacrifice, justification by his righteousness, and pardon through his blood, the resurrection from the dead, &c. things, though clearly revealed, yet may have difficulties attending them, and which are not very easily solved: now to know and understand the great truths of the Gospel, spiritually, savingly, and experimentally, is not from nature, or to be acquired by men's industry, but is the gift of God's grace, flowing from his sovereign will and pleasure; a favour which the disciples of Christ, as a chosen people, receive from the Lord, and which is denied others:

Those whose minds the devil has blinded 2 Cor. 4:3-4 to the True Gospel
of God's Electing Grace, known as the acronym TULIP, are in the majority.

For we know that the Election of Grace Eph 1:4 Chosen in Union with Christ
before the world began 2 Tim. 1:9 is only a remnant of all humanity Rom. 11:5; Is. 1:9.

The remainder though, will not be given to comprehend these Spiritual Truths
about Christ and the Salvation His Death accomplished only for all His Elect Seed Gal. 3:16,
but they will remain in Unbelief permanently because they were not chosen to Salvation
and Belief of the Truth as those in 2 Thes. 2:13.
