Kate Steinle Verdict

Why do you feel the need to attack? Her faith status has nothing to do with this. You could have said congrats for graduating. You could have simply ignored it. But no, you attack. :sigh:

Because Anna preaches to others, that's why.

That seems to be the legal reason.
Man-slaughter would have been a sure win.
By going for murder they needed to prove he had the intent to kill someone.

Since the shooter did not aim the gun directly at the woman (or anyone else), and since the bullet ricochet off the pavement and struck the woman, that gave them enough for reasonable doubt and made it hard to prove intent to kill.

People have backed out of their driveway without carefully looking both ways, run over kids or old ladies and got tried and sent up for negligent homicide.

Negligent homicide is a criminal charge brought against a person who, through criminal negligence, allows another person to die.

He was AT MINIMUM criminally negligent, firing a weapon in a crowd, and would have answered to justice almost anywhere else. But he's an illegal in a sanctuary city, so he's actually a political statement.

The jury and the judge and the defense attorneys will answer to God for this. Her blood is on their hands now.

And now that the Trump admin is talking about bringing him up on federal charges, watch the entire city of San Francisco work together to make him disappear.

Yep, he may well have been criminally negligent. The prosecution tried the case based on their particular theory of the case. The jury heard the evidence. Made a decision. That's the way it works. Don't like it? Too bad.

Well, there is precedent here. Look what happened in Mississippi with the three murders during the early civil rights vote drive. Prosecute this murderer for violating Kate's civil rights.

Saint JFK did.

Okay, so should Trump.

In case you couldn't already guess.

The jury, the majority of whom were San Francisco millennials and one quarter of whom were immigrants, apparently believed the defense’s assertion that Zarate’s stolen pistol went off “accidentally.”

They rendered social justice, not God's justice.

One person thinks they could have even charged him with negligent discharge.

http://www.mercurynews.com/2017/11/30/kate-steinle-shooting-jury-reaches-verdict/

Both the prosecution and the defense kept politics and the immigration debate out of the courtroom during the four-week trial, focusing instead on evidence such as bullet trajectories, gunshot residue and security video analysis.

Much of the trial focused on the Sig Sauer pistol that fired the fatal shot. The weapon was stolen from a federal Bureau of Land Management agent’s car several days before the shooting. The defense called a weapons expert, who said that make of gun has a history of misfiring, while the prosecution maintained that it would be difficult to fire it unintentionally.

Law experts weighed in on the verdicts, how the case was pursued and the ramifications.

“They must have thought it was an accident,” said Bay Area criminal defense attorney Anthony Boskovich. “The verdict means they believed his version and his experts’ testimony.

“This is going to cause a furor, given our current political climate,” Boskovich added. “The feds are going to see this as a runaway San Francisco jury, and it will further fuel the crackdown on immigrants.”

San Jose defense attorney Dennis Alan Lempert said the prosecution should have pursued a charge of negligent discharge of a weapon rather than murder in the first- or second-degree and involuntary manslaughter.

“The notion that it was an intentional shot to kill somebody belies credulity,” said Lempert, a former reserve officer with the Los Gatos police, noting that the bullet ricocheted off the pavement, ultimately traveling 200 feet — the equivalent of more than 10 lanes of traffic. “But the pressure on the prosecution was enormous.”

So I'm left confused about how this could be called a politically motivated verdict, or a travesty of justice by bleeding heart liberals. They couldn't show the charge so they found him not guilty. Could the jury have changed it to involuntary manslaughter?
I haven't watched the trial, and am not even sure it is available to watch.

One thing that sounds encouraging is that the FBI is a bit upset that he was not turned back over to them after the trial.
Something about that the FBI was the one that had him in custody and only turned him over for the trial to proceed, but that the FBI themselves were not through with him.
And they are going to charge him with every single thing they can no matter how small.
Depending on the severity of the charges, he could be incarcerated or given heavy fines.
So while the murder charge was a flop, the troubles for this illegal are not over.

Just have to wait and see.

And you speak for God. Got it.

The Bible says with unmistakable clarity what His will is regarding human justice...there are those who bear the sword and they are not to bear it in vain. The leftists in SF just did by letting this guy walk and - mark my words - helping him vanish if they believe the Feds will really come for him.

It would be cool if the FBI could charge him with enough to incarcerate him long enough to use prison chain gain labor to build a wall.

In wiser times, the warning that is his piked head would already be decorating the insurmountable border wall that would already exist.

If the situation had been reversed and it was an American citizen who had found the gun and it was the victim hit by the ricochet who was here illegally, musterion and his cohort wouldn't be interested in this beyond their glee at having one less illegal to deport. That's all this tragedy means to them. Their Christianity is inextricably wrapped in political and cultural power.

This corrupted society is the exception to the historical rule of deterrence, public shaming, punishment and executions - making very public examples of criminals - in order to maintain law and order. "Ooh, but that just makes everyone live in fear!" No, it does not. It makes LAWBREAKERS live in fear. Everyone who won't break laws lives with confidence that their government will quickly punish those who do because that's supposed to be one of the duties of government. THAT is how a sane society is run and stays intact.

The fact I need to point this out to idiots like you, who are allowed to vote despite your dangerous stupidity, shows how corrupted we are.
