Russians are free to provide information as anyone is. Would you still object if no foreign government took part in the release of that information?
The electoral process is unhealthy if people hear information you have deemed them not worthy to know? That's the essence of totalitarianism.

Huh? I didn't deem anything. What happened is what happened. We need all the facts to remediate this issue going forward.
The Russian successfully meddled in our politics by strategically hacking and putting out boring DNC emails. Trump jumped right on it strategically which is fine as long as he wasn't colluding or members of campaign. Comey for some unknown reason had to report it and then take it back, which he didn't do with the Trump campaign even though they were looking into that as well. So it is a real bad cluster mess.
We need to devote funds to finding out what happened and instead of worrying about a physical wall on our southern border, build a cyber wall to prevent hacking and train dopey people are subject to spear phishing. Even that, sophisticated programmers could code against. There are ways to recognize spear phishing programmatically. Bouncing off legitimate server and pretending to be someone you know - there must be some way to block that programatically. Even scanning the contents of the email and look for password requests is a relatively easy way to spot and quarantine them.
It would be real smart money to shore up our cyber walls. We are the wealthiest nation and there is loads of valuable information to steal. Regardless of your political persuasion this we should be able to agree on. It should be the number one priority.
And think about what Russia might have stolen and don't want us to know they have.
