Are you averse to homosexual activity?
Not for other people. I'm not inclined to it myself.

It's the only logical conclusion. How can you say otherwise? That's not how it works.
So you have an aversion to homosexual activity. You homophobe.

all heterosexuals who refuse to engage in homosexual activity are homophobes
You can say anything if you're not bound by logic.
Selaphiel;5047834]When push all knowledge we have about the Bbile and the texts contained in it to preserve a naive belief, that is willful ignorance. Is the Bible excempt from rational criticism? If so, why? If you say: "Because it is the word of God", then you have to establish that it really is the unambigious direct word of God.
What hateful nonsense. So you cannot actually provide a rational reason for same sex marriages being immoral except "God says it is". So God is essentially a tyrant to inflict eternal punishment on those who goes against his arbitrary whims, with no rhyme or reason? And you worship this being? Sounds like an enlarged boy with a magnifying glass that is burning ants for fun. You may fantasize about them burning in hell for all eternity, but that really says a whole lot more about you than them.
It is a legitimate question. My reading is supported by people who were near contemporaries with Paul, Justin Martyr being one example.
No empty rhetoric is you claiming to be the representative of God himself, refusing to listen to any objections against your downright idolatrous view of the Bible. You are a text book example of a biblicist, one who turned the literal text of the Bible into an idol. Why are you so scared of reason?
They're not bad, they're just wild animals. Chimps can get hooked on smoking cigrits1, so it's unsurprising that people can find the graphic description of bonoboism as unnerving. They're not all bad. Kanzi, the bonobo, learned to play Pacman.

So you have an aversion to homosexual activity. You homophobe.
It's fascinating. The folks most determined to abhor the actions of others are also the most insistent on erasing the distinction between their own actions and the actions of others.
No one is expected to engage in any sexual activity that doesn't appeal to them. That isn't what the term "homophobia" captures. Does that mean the distinction is meaningless?
Just try not to cast the entire Christian faith as homophobic and we probably won't have a problem. :idunno: SSB is immoral. That's our faith, and it's always been our faith too; you can see it in Sacred Scripture, right in the New Testament; you don't have to go all the way back to Leviticus; it's not something made up recently. It's immoral, and for you to therefore paint the Church as "homophobic" because of that, is why there's a problem. It's fascinating. ... what the term "homophobia" captures.
pho·bi·a ˈfōbēə/ noun noun: phobia; plural noun: phobias an extreme or irrational fear of or aversion to something. |
Homophobia is not an action.
You have an aversion to homosexual activity. How are you not a homophobe?
If you want to diagnose the fundamentalists' problem then you have to recognize that they are members of the Church who are in rebellion against the Pastors™ of the Church™. Pastors™ are mentioned in Sacred Scripture as overseers, elders, and bishops, and among all the Pastors™ they are all equal, and the Apostles are first, and among the Apostles Peter is first. And the Church™ is Jesus Christ's Church™, mentioned in Matthew 16:18 (KJV) when He called her "My Church;" His Church is the Church™, the pastors of His Church are the Pastors™ of the Church™. Non-Catholic Christians are in rebellion against the Pastors™.
... homosexuality in general...
Depends on how you do it, I suppose.
I have an aversion to doing a particular set of things, or both homosexual and heterosexual nature, not to homosexuality in general. Can you say the same?
Just try not to cast the entire Christian faith as homophobic and we probably won't have a problem.

We have no problem condemning anti-homosexual vigilante violence as immoral, but you're condemning the world's biggest religion, for saying that SSB is immoral. So, consider that.
