boycott the NFL

Trump relies on culture wars to distract from everything else and stir up his supporters.
Is the media harping on things that the public at large is not interested in a good thing? This year has been non stop media pressure to remove a duly elected president from office and it has focused on things so irrelevant to the vast majority of people . The only people who care about these things are those driven by a hatred of such severity that it is an obsession to them.

Using various tactics to drive the narrative away from that nonsense is brilliant. It should have been done a long time ago to remove the power the MSM has had over brainwashing a large segment of our society.

You just don’t get it. White women will no longer watch the nfl due to the black lies about the people white women rely on in times of crisis; The police.

Contrary to "ClimateSanity's" assurances, the "vast majority of people" are interested in these "irrelevant" issues and they are less than impressed with this President.

If the "various tactics to drive the narrative away from that nonsense is brilliant," then we should expect at least 60% of the American public to agree that the nation is headed in the "RIGHT DIRECTION" - and that the President's own Secretary of State not be referring to him as a "MORON!"

yep, and shows how completely out of touch liberals are with the rest of the country. I say let them keep it up, america is waking up.
Not it at all really. And it's not about liberals. I know to the hard right everything seems to be. It's largely about a decline that began before the flag controversy was in play, coupled with younger people watching in untraditional formats and a lot of people skipping about and not watching whole games, a-la Red Zone.

Trump did not cause the division over the kneeling and NFL, he personified it - Newt Gingrich

These guys are entertainers, if they don't want fans that's fine.

That's not how you spell "desperately attempted to co-op and distract attention from the woefully inadequate job he was doing" but Newt probably had something in his eye.

And they're all in Cleveland. :plain:

More seriously, none of the stadiums are empty. Not even close to empty, but there are more than a few empty seats. Where?

1. Jets @ Mia....a decent crowd for that bad a game. And whoever is invested in trying to make something worse out of it is taking a snapshot of the nosebleed section. Think about it. It's almost a miracle that anyone is paying to sit there (or still) for that game. I'd be amazed to see them filled with giveaways.

2. Ten @ Cle: I think they pay you to watch a game in Cleveland.

3. Car @ Chi: actually a decent crowd for a rebuilding team.
Their home averages
2015: 62k
2016: 60.300+
2017: 61,700+

Or, trending up again now that they've found a qb.

4. Jac/Indy? Seriously. Bad games with teams that aren't generating excitement aren't going to fill the stands. They never have.

It's deeply troubling to see evangelicals desiring to enforce the worship of the state religion. It's deeply troubling to see them calling for economic pressure on anyone not willing to engage in the prescribed method of worshiping.

Let it be that anyone who does not "honor" this red, white and blue image, when the hymn to it is played, that their ability to buy and sell be revoked.

If it was just about respect, I can't imagine a form of protest more respectful than quietly taking a knee. But it's not. It's about enforcing the orthodoxy of the faith.

20171020_Gold_Star_Trump.jpg

Trump, in his infinite wisdom, has shifted the major topic away from the NFL and onto the deaths of 4 Green Berets in Niger, inappropriate comments directed toward a gold-star wife and mother, his failure to send a $25000 cheque as promised and a false narrative about the actions of former presidents!

Despite White House Chief of Staff Kelly's noble attempt to extricate the President from yet another mess of his own making, Trump's obsession with his own infallibility has only continued to fuel this firestorm with his "tweets!"

A normal president would have contacted the gold-star wife and mother to make amends, left the actions of former presidents out of the conversation and refrained from any tweets that might have resurrected the gold-star controversy!

Caused, no. Fanned the flames, yes.
Nope.
Flames were fanned by the kneeling protests long before Trump said a word about it.
The fans spoke first, and it just so happened Trump agreed with them.

"We can't let the inmates run the prison".

McNair released a second statement Saturday afternoon and insisted he wasn't referring to the players with his "very regretful comment." Instead he says he was "referring to the relationship between the league office and team owners and how they have been making significant strategic decisions affecting our league without adequate input from ownership over the past few years."
