- According to the most recent data, rates of obesity now exceed 35 percent in three states (Arkansas, West Virginia and Mississippi), 22 states have rates above 30 percent, 45 states are above 25 percent, and every state is above 20 percent.
- The data show that 23 of 25 states with the highest rates of obesity are in the South and Midwest.

Wide Load Wants to Control Your Food

The same group of conservatives that want the government to enforce full term pregnancies and decide as to which consenting adults can and can't get married, based on their sexual orientation, now consider much less intrusive attempts to address rampant child and adult obesity in America as contributing to a "nanny state!"

Is it just coincidence that those states with the "widest loads," needing to change their diet,
tend to be "conservative?"
