By the way, if Lilstu is searching for truth, then, he has a good reason for being here. If not, then, he's just here to cause disruption and that's not good. That would make him a bonafide TROLL!

Even after Moses returned from the Mountain and eyed the debauchery taking place from the "Chosen people" Moses asked that those who followed God were to come over to him (Moses) The one's that didn't were ordered to be slain by the swords of those who did. Unlike the Charlton Heston version where the earth opened and they were swallowed up.

The movie was right YOU are wrong.

Deu 11:6
And what he did unto Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, the son of Reuben: how the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and their households, and their tents, and all the substance that was in their possession, in the midst of all Israel:

They weren't destroyed because of heresy, they were destroyed because of their sin and debauchery. (Homosexuality, etc.) No Cigar for you.

Wrong again:

Gen 13:13
But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the LORD exceedingly.

If they were not heretics they would have been worshiping God.

Exodus 32:27 "then Moses stood in the gate of the camp, and said, "Whoever is for the LORD, come to me!" And all the sons of Levi gathered together to him. He said to them, "Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, 'Every man of you put his sword upon his thigh, and go back and forth from gate to gate in the camp, and kill every man his brother, and every man his friend, and every man his neighbor.'" So the sons of Levi did as Moses instructed, and about three thousand men of the people fell that day.…"

I'd be obliged if somebody could show me one single verse that showed that God ordered the killing of a single Heretic, like Crucible mentioned? Set me straight, I'm open to new information and will even apologize to Crucible if it's a clear cut mention from the word of God?

Acts 12:20-23New American Standard Bible (NASB)
Now he was very angry with the people of Tyre and Sidon; and with one accord they came to him, and having won over Blastus the king’s chamberlain, they were asking for peace, because their country was fed by the king’s country. 21 On an appointed day Herod, having put on his royal apparel, took his seat on the rostrum and began delivering an address to them. 22 The people kept crying out, “The voice of a god and not of a man!” 23 And immediately an angel of the Lord struck him because he did not give God the glory, and he was eaten by worms and died.

lol, you really have no clue do you ?

Rom 1:21
Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

Deuteronomy 11:6 had to do with "Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, the son of Reuben:" That being a separate situation. So, the movie was still wrong. Good try though.

That's not the answer. You're grasping at straws now.

Still NO answer.

Not under the dispensation of Grace he hasn't. And even if he had that would be his prerogative as God. Not man's.

Keep on defending murderers.

Your dispensations are nonsense. Keep defending fantasy.

Taking down heretics in Calvin's time saved lives. Your culture kills to keep it's cars oiled.

The history of Reformed (Augustinian/papist) logic and practice does make sense, but only if you swallow its false starting point of Law.

If you believe that you are Israel...if you believe the "moral law" is still in force for faith and practice...and if you believe that you are in, or helping to bring in, the theocratic Kingdom of Christ, then it's a very small step to putting to death heretics (however you define heresy) if you have the power to do so, just like as happened under the Law.

That's how you end up with professing Christians today talking a lot about grace but defending legalistic, doctrine-based murder for whatever they define as heresy.
