Why Calvinist Cannot Defend Their Doctrine of a Limited Atonement

The fact remains. You cannot defend the doctrine of a limited atonement, simply because there is no scripture that supports a limited atonement.

There are dozens and dozens of scriptures that support an unlimited atonement. Here is just one, 1 John 2:2.

So you are left with a choice. You can call the apostle John a liar. You can call the Bible a liar. Or you can just ignore this post.

1 Jn 2:2 supports limited atonement, because many people are under Gods Wrath Jn 3:36 !

You are like a drowning man grasping at straws to stay afloat.

Calvinism is a sinking ship and you are going down with it.

Those that are under God's wrath are those who do not believe, did you read the scripture?

Calvinism is the Gospel of Gods Grace in Christ![emoji1]

Amen, folk think just because the Truths of the Gospel have been labeled after the name of a man they will escape the rejecting of the Truth! NO Sir !

Exactly, and all according to God's Purpose.
Only His Elect in Christ will believe the True Gospel,
But all the rest of humanity, the reprobates of the world,
the seed of the serpent, will remain blinded to it!

God's elect are those who have come to Christ as repentant sinners to be saved by him.

Wrong. They don't come to Christ to become elect.
But they come to Christ as the evidence of being God's Elect!

Repentant sinners 2 Tim. 2:25 are those who are God's Elect.

No carnal man, still in the flesh, has the ability to come to Christ.

John 6:44
No man can come to me, except the Father which hath
sent me draw him
: and I will raise him up at the last day.

God's Elect are drawn to Christ because God has Chosen them to Salvation:

2 Thes. 2:13
But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because
God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth

Titus 1:1-2
Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God's elect,
and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness; In hope of eternal life,
which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began

Sovereign God has done the Electing to Salvation before the world began 1 Pet. 1:2; 2 Tim. 1:9.

"Whosoever that shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved" Romans 10:13.

Rom. 10:13 is declaration that those who call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Because only those whom God quickens, makes Spiritually Alive, shall call upon His name and be Saved.

Ps. 80:18b KJV - quicken us, and we will call upon thy name.

Before a person is quickened by the Spirit, he is still
in the flesh and no works he does can please God.

Rom. 8:7-8 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God:
for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

Scripture interprets scripture 1 Cor. 2:13.

No, scripture does not interpret scripture.

The "Historical Gospel" of Jesus Christ interprets everything, including scripture.

Tulip is only a formula. And it is not even close to the gospel.

It is a false formula.

There is not one Calvinist on this Forum that has scripture to support a limited atonement.

But there are many, many scriptures that support an UNLIMITED atonement, 1 John 2:2 is just one of many.

1 John 2:2 New King James Version (NKJV)

2 And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.

What is it that you do not understand about the "whole" world.

Probably the part where you limit the definition of "world" to every single person in the world without exception rather than allowing it to be defined more generally as it often is in the bible.

Are you saying that salvation is not for all who ask for it?

??

I'm saying that the word "kosmos" does not necessarily mean "every single human being in the world who has ever lived or will ever live without exception."

I'm saying that the word "Kosmos" often mean humanity in general.

Jesus propitiated not only for the sins of Jews, but also Greeks, Romans, Barbarians, African's, Australians, etc....

The whole world.

Really the question goes back to whether you think the blood of Jesus actually propitiated anyone's sin.

Most non-Calvinists do not.

Not really...

John 3:16 New King James Version (NKJV)

16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Does the world mean the whole world? Does whoever mean anyone?
