A true believer today is one who abides by the Grace Gospel as was given to the Apostle Paul by the Ascended Lord Jesus Christ.
Anything that deviates from that Gospel is suspected of being, "Another gospel" and to be shunned.

I've NEVER read anything he's written. Your guy is "Josephus" and his writings are secular, not inspired by God. He was basically a commentator/historian.
