All persons have a 'point of view', 'philosophical disposition', 'cultural upbringing' and 'free will' which affects or conditions various aspects of their 'choosing' of their religious path-way....obviously.

So far in this thread,....the UB holds in its cosmological integrity as a whole, as far as a cosmological-religious-philosophical over-view of the great ascension plan of creation and the eternal progress of mortals along that path Godward is concerned. The papers in this work describe this marvelous undertaking and project of life-expansion, ever evolving in rhythm to the divine will and harmonies that orchestrate the glory of God in the cosmos. Those who read the papers discover such wonderful details, and share these with those also interested in them. Hence the discussion here.

Those offering scorn, ridicule, polemics, ad hominems do not enhance the discussion here, but only show their narrow dogmatism and rigid view of religion under the guise of their own prescribed lens. A greater vision affords a better life-overview, and being open to explore those potentials and possibilities of life. Hence our undertaking :)

We can discuss without personal insults, but as for your beliefs, you have another gospel, which the Bible says is no gospel.

We can discuss without personal insults,

Indeed,....its civil and refreshing to do so.

but as for your beliefs, you have another gospel, which the Bible says is no gospel.

You mean your 'interpretation' of what the Bible is saying is 'good news' or how in any way it disagrees with the UB about such ;) - on that note, I find the message in the UB to be very positive and certainly 'good news' as far as the eternal progress and immortality-potential of the soul is concerned, in a universe of unending service and new discoveries. Everyone has their own 'slant' on what the 'good news' is even among traditional Christian denonimations, add your own 'nuance'.

The Bible has already been interpreted. Just believe what it plainly says.

The original gospel that Jesus preached to the Jews changed after Jesus left. If the Jews accepted their calling, corosponding to Abrahams faith, the gospel of the kingdom of heaven would be preached by Jews from Jerusalem today. But tragically Jesus and his gospel was rejected, the gospel changed.

We have been given the gift of the entire life of Jesus by those angelic like beings who were on the earth at the time.

On another thread a Jewish guy was asking about Melchizedek, trying to discredit "Hebrews" or Christian speculation about Mel. But now that we have the UB we know who Mel. was, where he came from, why he was here, what he did with Abram and where he is now. Basically Mel. came as the forerunner to the incarnation of Christ Michael aka Jesus.

The Urantia Book

Paper 93

MACHIVENTA MELCHIZEDEK

93:0.1 THE MELCHIZEDEKS are widely known as emergency Sons, for they engage in an amazing range of activities on the worlds of a local universe. When any extraordinary problem arises, or when something unusual is to be attempted, it is quite often a Melchizedek who accepts the assignment. The ability of the Melchizedek Sons to function in emergencies and on widely divergent levels of the universe, even on the physical level of personality manifestation, is peculiar to their order. Only the Life Carriers share to any degree this metamorphic range of personality function.

93:0.2 The Melchizedek order of universe sonship has been exceedingly active on Urantia. A corps of twelve served in conjunction with the Life Carriers. A later corps of twelve became receivers for your world shortly after the Caligastia secession and continued in authority until the time of Adam and Eve. These twelve Melchizedeks returned to Urantia upon the default of Adam and Eve, and they continued thereafter as planetary receivers on down to the day when Jesus of Nazareth, as the Son of Man, became the titular Planetary Prince of Urantia.

1. THE MACHIVENTA INCARNATION

93:1.1 Revealed truth was threatened with extinction during the millenniums which followed the miscarriage of the Adamic mission on Urantia. Though making progress intellectually, the human races were slowly losing ground spiritually. About 3000 B.C. the concept of God had grown very hazy in the minds of men.

93:1.2 The twelve Melchizedek receivers knew of Michael's impending bestowal on their planet, but they did not know how soon it would occur; therefore they convened in solemn council and petitioned the Most Highs of Edentia that some provision be made for maintaining the light of truth on Urantia. This plea was dismissed with the mandate that "the conduct of affairs on 606 of Satania is fully in the hands of the Melchizedek custodians." The receivers then appealed to the Father Melchizedek for help but only received word that they should continue to uphold truth in the manner of their own election "until the arrival of a bestowal Son," who "would rescue the planetary titles from forfeiture and uncertainty."

93:1.3 And it was in consequence of having been thrown so completely on their own resources that Machiventa Melchizedek, one of the twelve planetary receivers, volunteered to do that which had been done only six times in all the history of Nebadon: to personalize on earth as a temporary man of the realm, to bestow himself as an emergency Son of world ministry. Permission was granted for this adventure by the Salvington authorities, and the actual incarnation of Machiventa Melchizedek was consummated near what was to become the city of Salem, in Palestine. The entire transaction of the materialization of this Melchizedek Son was completed by the planetary receivers with the co-operation of the Life Carriers, certain of the Master Physical Controllers, and other celestial personalities resident on Urantia.

2. THE SAGE OF SALEM

93:2.1 It was 1,973 years before the birth of Jesus that Machiventa was bestowed upon the human races of Urantia. His coming was unspectacular; his materialization was not witnessed by human eyes. He was first observed by mortal man on that eventful day when he entered the tent of Amdon, a Chaldean herder of Sumeriann extraction. And the proclamation of his mission was embodied in the simple statement which he made to this shepherd, "I am Melchizedek, priest of El Elyon, the Most High, the one and only God."

93:2.2 When the herder had recovered from his astonishment, and after he had plied this stranger with many questions, he asked Melchizedek to sup with him, and this was the first time in his long universe career that Machiventa had partaken of material food, the nourishment which was to sustain him throughout his ninety-four years of life as a material being.

93:2.3 And that night, as they talked out under the stars, Melchizedek began his mission of the revelation of the truth of the reality of God when, with a sweep of his arm, he turned to Amdon, saying, "El Elyon, the Most High, is the divine creator of the stars of the firmament and even of this very earth on which we live, and he is also the supreme God of heaven."

93:2.4 Within a few years Melchizedek had gathered around himself a group of pupils, disciples, and believers who formed the nucleus of the later community of Salem. He was soon known throughout Palestine as the priest of El Elyon, the Most High, and as the sage of Salem. Among some of the surrounding tribes he was often referred to as the sheik, or king, of Salem. Salem was the site which after the disappearance of Melchizedek became the city of Jebus, subsequently being called Jerusalem.......read more if you want

The legacy of Melchizedek in our historical records and soul's cosmic memory-stream is proved by the biblical accounts and subsequent revelations, such as the UB, but other accounts as well. Let us note the primary teachings of Melchizedek and those of his order, were 'faith-based', upon which later Mosaic innovations and expansions were added.

Symbol of the Paradise Trinity

Symbol of the Paradise Trinity

~*~*~

Machiventa Melchizedek wore upon his breastplate the insignia of the Paradise Trinity -

240px-Urantia_three-concentric-blue-circles-on-white_symbol.svg.png

104:1.3 The third presentation of the Trinity was made by Machiventa Melchizedek and this doctrine was symbolized by the three concentric circles which the sage of Salem wore on his breast plate. But Machiventa found it very difficult to teach the Palestinian Bedouins about the Universal Father, the Eternal Son, and the Infinite Spirit. Most of his disciples thought that the Trinity consisted of the three Most Highs of Norlatiadek; a few conceived of the Trinity as the System Sovereign, the Constellation Father, and the local universe Creator Deity; still fewer even remotely grasped the idea of the Paradise association of the Father, Son, and Spirit.

Earlier we learn this 'symbol' is also the banner of Michael, the material emblem of the Trinity government of all creation. Also -

93:3.3 The symbol of the three concentric circles, which Melchizedek adopted as the insignia of his bestowal, a majority of the people interpreted as standing for the three kingdoms of men, angels, and God. And they were allowed to continue in that belief; very few of his followers ever knew that these three circles were emblematic of the infinity, eternity, and universality of the Paradise Trinity of divine maintenance and direction; even Abraham rather regarded this symbol as standing for the three Most Highs of Edentia, as he had been instructed that the three Most Highs functioned as one. To the extent that Melchizedek taught the Trinity concept symbolized in his insignia, he usually associated it with the three Vorondadek rulers of the constellation of Norlatiadek.

Elsewhere in Christian lore & theology,...Melchizedek is likened unto Jesus in his priestly ministry (most specifically in Hebrews), that he is a prototype or even a pre-incarnate manifestation of Christ, or some other 'theophany', otherwise they only have similar ministries, of the same office or archetypal resonance (being two separate persons). However,...the papers reveal a whole order of sons of God being called 'Melchizedeks',...and the one that incarnated here on a special mission referred to in the Bible (and explained in much greater detail in the papers) is 'Machiventa' ....just one of many of this particular order of sons of God, who brang a significant teaching dispensation with him most notably with his meeting and dealings with Abraham, as the 'priest of the Most High God (El Elyon). - the papers chart the great teaching-mission of Machiventa and its influence in future dispensations.

There are 56 mentions of 'Machiventa' in the papers....index here.

No way, for Jesus knew only a remnant of the Jews would be saved.

The gospel did not change! The gospel was even ANNOUNCED in the Old Testament times.

Romans 1:2 the gospel he promised beforehand through his prophets in the Holy Scriptures

Galatians 3:8 Scripture foresaw that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, and announced the gospel in advance to Abraham: "All nations will be blessed through you."

It does not matter if someone is a Jew or a Gentile. God does not care about whom we are blood related to, only those who come to Him by the blood of Jesus.

Do you really think that coming from a certain piece of land matters anymore, or being blood related to someone matters? It mattered until Jesus came. It mattered then because God promised Abraham that the Savior of the world would be blood related to him.

We have been given the gift of the entire life of Jesus by those angelic like beings who were on the earth at the time.

I do not know what you are trying to say there.

The coming of the Son of God was foreseen going all the way back to Adam. He did come and tried to preach his original gospel to the Jews who were to carry it to all the world. No, land and race don't matter.

But the original gospel was rejected.....somehow being rejected and killed as a blood sacrifice became the new gospel. The Pagan world already had that backwards way of thinking. It's mercy not sacrifice but the Bible says so many conflicting things that it's understandable how the confusion arose, especially since the early believers were sacrifice minded Jews.

In the original gospel God forgives sincere repentance, no blood of an innocent man required.

You do not believe that an All Powerful God, the Creator of the Universe, of all that is seen and unseen, could preserve His written Word of us, and exactly as He wanted.

Genesis 4:4 And Abel also brought an offering--fat portions from some of the firstborn of his flock. The LORD looked with favor on Abel and his offering,

Sure, but God doesn't write books and he didn't write any of the Bible books. Besides, the Book of Jasher and other secular history books of the Jews mentioned by the Bible books vanished.

The machismo of the authors of Gen. 4 still favored hunter/herder over farming. It's an age old struggle......and why would a family of 4 even need heard or fields in a tropical paradise????

It is clear that you do not value the Holy Bible.

However, it is all God breathed.

Your book that tickles your ears because it make you feel close to your earthly biological dad is exactly that.

I respect the true parts of the Bible, but I don't pretend to believe things that I don't think are true.

My grandfather was a popular Brethren minister here in the mountains of VA. My dad was a dentist and attended a Methodist church as well as a UB reader beginning in the 60's, when he would at times read from the UB it was as if I already believed what was in it because it's obvious. The truths in the UB had nothing to do with my father, in fact dad sort of faded away from the UB in his 80's. When he died he had requested a sort of fire and brimstone country preacher do his funeral. After the preacher was done and it was my turn, I gave a sermon from the UB, darn near brought the house down!

You chose and throw away and have made for yourself a fictional book with parts stolen from God.

You chose what tickled your ears, which were the things you learned in the best times of your life. It is still wrong, and for wrong reasons.
