It seems to me that rape is a crime, and that the tone to strike is not to emphasize that women shouldn't go places where they might be victims of crimes, but that men shouldn't commit the crimes. It should concern anyone when a person seeking powerful office thinks that it's the responsibility of the potential victims of a crime rather than the perpetrators.

Then you believe that the powers that be in other countries are handling the rapes committed by muslim immigrants wrong, each time they tell women to dress differently and avoid being alone (un-escorted)in certain places and to dress much more conservatively to avoid muslim 'misundertandings ' right?

Do businesses keep there doors unlocked and complain about robbers?
No

We have even created an industry of alarms and safeguards.
This has been done because you can't teach a criminal to not be a criminal. They are CRIMINALS

You all go full on retard about the rape thing.
'Teach men not to rape'- you don't even see the internalized misandry there

If that's the response, yes, of course that's the wrong response. Agreed?

They could. They generally don't leave their doors unlocked. But if a business did, that wouldn't justify robbers coming in and helping themselves.

Well, of course you can. But beyond that, when does it become the fault of the crime victim if you can't teach the criminal?

What? Because you don't think men can grasp that lesson? I think if you set the bar low, some people will still fail to clear it.

ok doser

lifeguard at the cement pond
campuses are awash with advice to young woman on what to do/not to do to avoid being raped or minimize the risk of being raped

are they wrong to inform them of these risky behaviors?

Your insurance doesn't pay off if you have your doors unlocked. Do you know why?
Because there is a reasonable expectation of being proactive and responsible- something women apparantly think they are exempt from!

I think anyone who goes around saying men need to be taught not to rape need to be punched in the face.

For obvious reasons.
But
They aren't so obvious for people with such a severe case of Stockholm's Syndrome like yourself, hombre :)

I'm sorry. I don't follow your logic at all. Why don't you connect a few more dots instead of making claims appear as facts?

Because insurances is a private contract designed to protect assets instead of punish crimes? Also, that's not necessarily true. Comprehensive insurance would generally cover it, but it depends on your policy and/or state.

And yet, the crime is still punishable. You may feel a little silly for leaving your car unlocked, but the real shame should accrue against the person who takes things that don't belong to them. The locks are voluntary self-protection that, in an ideal situation, shouldn't be necessary.

I think you need anger management classes.

For obvious reasons.

I can feel your bitter entitled attitude from here.

They used to do that, but some people decided that they didn't like the security provided by single-gender education and made them stop.
No, it's just that republicans want all the tax dollars being collected to go to their wealthy cronies and political patrons, rather than to the general public's security or well-being. So they have developed this constant habit of always blaming the victims of their own insatiable greed so that they can continue exploiting our unfortunate inclination to hate and blame each other. Just as you're doing, here.

FTFY, and you are welcome. :)

So they have developed this constant habit of always blaming the victims . . . Just as you're doing, here.
I am trying to bring back the common sense that protected women from rape, you are trying to create victims of rape by disarming them of all the common sense protections that have been working since the beginning of time.
