The question of the ages ? 3

The question of the ages ? 3

Now that is how God fits the wicked, the vessels of wrath for destruction, that is by hardening them in a life long state of disobedience, hence they are the children of disobedience, and thats all they will ever be, determined so by God Himself, appointed to disobedience like the jews 1 Pet 2:8

And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed. The word appointed here is the same word used in 1 Thess 5:9

For God hath not appointed us[The Elect] to wrath[as some are], but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,

Now some may say that even believers were once the children of disobedience and point to Eph 2:2, but that's false. They were once disobedient [Titus 3:3], and once walked as the children of disobedience doth walk as Per Eph 2:3

Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

But that being true, they are never the children of disobedience, though by nature they are very disobedient to God their Father, and do walk according to the same spirit, the prince of the power of the air, and they are just as worthy of wrath for their vile behavior, but all that said, they are still the Children of God, the Sons of God, not the Children of disobedience. God is still there Father even while in that state, just as the prodigal son was still the beloved son of his Father while in a state unbridled alienation, for he was never truly one of those citizens he hired himself out to be one of Lk 15:15

15 And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.

Those citizens are the true children of disobedience ! But back to the point at hand, and that is God is Just in making for the purpose of eternally punishing them for their sins, that is for sin that He purposed for them to do; and it matters not if we question God's Justice for doing so, and so submit to you Paul's answer if you do Rom 9:20

20 Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus?

And such as do question God for this, they do show an attitude of rebellion against the True God !

Something to say about freewill !

Something to say about freewill !

Something to say about freewill and responsibility or accountability. When its denied that man has not freewill, that means that mans will is always under the Sovereign control of God doing whatever God has purposed it to do; Thats not to say that man does not have the rational ability and wherewithal to make a decision involving what is right and what is wrong and to be held accountable or responsible for the same.

However though, that moral choice that we make rationally and deliberately through our thought process of the mind or lack of it was determined by God and the choice made only conforms to what God determined to be done by us.

To explain further, God in His Eternal Purpose, subjected man or adam unto vanity Rom 8:20, for if that had not been the case, man would not have yielded to temptation of the serpent, but man and creation by him were made subject, not willingly, meaning, they had no choice in the matter. That is Adam had no choice in the matter of God's Purpose determining that he would responsibly sin in order to bring about the subjecting creation to vanity, sin and death.

Now its summed really well here in Prov 19:21

21 There are many devices in a man’s heart; nevertheless the counsel or purpose of the Lord, that shall stand.

Many plans are in a man’s heart,
but the Lord’s decree will prevail.

So adam's sin and anyone else for that matter, does not dismiss volitional responsibility and accountability, even though the act or choice could only be made according to God's decree of determination ! And of course by saying this we can expect to get the response as Paul did with the same truth of God Rom 9:19

19 Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will?

That word will means purpose or counsel as in Prov 19:21 ! Who has successfully stood against His Purpose or Counsel ????

It cannot be done.

So we do God's will of purpose at all times, whether our deliberate choices be good or evil !

To do whatsoever thy hand and thy counsel determined !

To do whatsoever thy hand and thy counsel determined !

Acts 4:24-28

24 And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is:

25 Who by the mouth of thy servant David hast said, Why did the heathen rage, and the people imagine vain things?

26 The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord, and against his Christ.

27 For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together,

28 For to do whatsoever thy hand and thy counsel determined before to be done.

Everything beginning with adam and eve and the serpent in the garden, up to this day, everything done by all human beings, good or evil, has only been that done which God's Hand and Counsel determined before to be done !

Thats why Jeremiah writes Jer 10:23

23 O Lord, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.

O Lord, I know that the way humans act is not under their control.
Humans do not direct their steps as they walk.

And Solomon writes Prov 20:24

24 Man's[In General] goings are of the Lord; how can a man then understand his own way?

Man’s steps are ordered by the Lord. How then can a man understand his way?

Prov 16:9

9 A man’s heart deviseth his way, but the Lord directeth his steps.

We make our own plans,
but the Lord decides
where we will go.

Eph 1:11b

11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh or effects all things after the counsel of his own will:

Also in union with him we were given an inheritance, we who were picked in advance according to the purpose of the One who effects everything in keeping with the decision of his will,

This of course is a Truth that the natural mind of man is at enmity with and cannot accept !

Prov 16:4 Made for His Praise !

Prov 16:4

4 The Lord hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.

Ps 145:10

10 All thy works shall praise thee, O Lord; and thy saints shall bless thee.

All things God made are His Works, yes even the wicked and their wickedness were made by Him for His Praise, that is to say everything God has made works to His Praise, to include the wicked, even the wicked one himself, the children of the wicked one Matt 13:38

The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one; Which are also the wicked of Prov 16:4; Yes the wicked shall praise Him in His Divine Justice when He condemns them in the last day 1 Cor 11:32

32 But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.

Of course how the wicked praise Him will be not be intelligently or out of Redemptive gratitude as so with the saved, but in that they are exactly what God purposed them to be and do, and since all men do and accomplish what He created them to do, they are to His Praise, and why it can be said assuredly, the works of His Hands shall Praise Him !

Who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will !

Eph 1:11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:

The all things here are not restricted to the things of the context, but does embrace the universality of all things, even of natural providence, and forms the foundation for Paul to also declare another familiar context Rom 8:28

28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

This knowledge comes from Knowing and Believing, Trusting that all things [no exceptions] worketh [to be operative] after the Counsel of God's Own Will. Also note, that God is not working according to another's will, but of His Own Will, others will are controlled by His Own Will and not the other way around This should silence the ultra blasphemy or concept of man's freewill, for its not ever not under the control of God's Own Will, working according to His Counsel !

Boasters !

Boasters !

2 Tim 3:2

For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

Boaster here means a empty pretender Rom 1:30

Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

Those of us who testify that one is saved from their sins because of their freewill is a boaster who glories in themselves, they pretend to glory in God, but they are pretenders and glory in themselves. They deny the Sovereignty of God in Salvation by His Electing Grace, and the Sovereign working of the Spirit in a person which is what causes one to differ. There is no middle ground here, for either the Sovereign Grace of the Spirit causes one to differ or man's freewill; Those of us who say freewill of man, then we are proud boasters, look what I have done !

Does man act freely and responsibly ? Cont

Does man act freely and responsibly ? Cont

Man is free to only do what God has decreed for him to do, which James points out here James 4:13-17

13 Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain:

14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.

15 For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that. Note: It should be if the Lord will we shall Believe on Christ Savingly !

16 But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil.

17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

Man is free to do whatever God has decreed, no more nor no less. Also understand man is not free to not do what God has decreed, for its as Jeremiah wrote Jer 10:23

23 O Lord, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.

O Lord, I know that the way humans act is not under their control.
Humans do not direct their steps as they walk.

Lord, I know that none of us are in charge of our own destiny;
none of us have control over our own life.

Though the human will acts responsibly, deliberately, nevertheless its limited to only act within the realm of God's determinate counsel, other than that its not free !

In wisdom hast thou made them all !

In wisdom hast thou made them all !

Ps 104:24

24 O Lord, how manifold are thy works! in wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches.

God made all that He made in wisdom as the above testifies to, and so made He the wicked for the day of evil in Wisdom Prov 16:4

4 The Lord hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.

Yes, He was the Potter whom made them vessels of wrath to fit them for destruction Rom 9:20-22

20 Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus?

21 Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?

22 What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction:

The Psalmist says In Wisdom though hast Made, that Wisdom which is One with God's Eternal Redemptive Purpose in Christ Eph 3:9-11

9 And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:

10 To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,

11 According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord:

For Christ is the Wisdom of God 1 Cor 1:24

But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

God made the Wicked for Himself in Wisdom and for a Suitable Purpose in Christ Jesus !

God before the world began purposed that Christ would be slain by wicked hands Acts 2:23

Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:

Believe Jesus is God in Salvation !

Believe Jesus is God in Salvation !

Rom 10:9-10

9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Can one believe on the Lord Jesus Christ in the matter of Salvation without believing that He is also Jehovah ? The answer is no; and no God given Faith produced by the Holy Spirit in one will deny this, For Salvation Faith will acknowledge what all Scripture reveals about the Person of Christ, That He was God manifested in the flesh 1 Tim 3:16; it reveals He was Emmanuel God with us Matt 1:23; It reveals that He was God Jn 1:1 and then was made Flesh Jn 1:14.

The Lord Jesus Christ is Jehovah as Man Lets notice something in this matter here Acts 16:31,34

31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

Now notice Vs 34

34 And when he had brought them into his house, he set meat before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house.

The Lord Jesus Christ commanded to be believed on in Vs 31 is the God believed in Vs 34.

This means without question that between Paul's Imperative and the speaking of the word of the Lord to him Vs 32, Paul taught that the Lord Jesus Christ is God, Emmanuel, and they believed !

Return unto me; for I have redeemed thee !

Return unto me; for I have redeemed thee !

The reason being what God has already done " I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins"

Isa 43:25

25 I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.

God has already redeemed them Gal 3:13, this comes solely through through the Riches of His Grace Eph 1:7.

So this is contrary to the religionists who makes redemption and forgiveness of sins contingent upon if a person decides to repent. True Repentance is motivated after an spiritual application of God's Grace, that forgiveness has been accomplished by and through Christ for us, and any other way makes it a matter of our works being the motivation as to why God redeemed us and forgives us our sins and not solely for Christ's Sake !

Evidences of Salvation not conditions !

Evidences of Salvation not conditions !

What religionists have done in opposition to the Truth of God, they have taken the Divine Imperatives meant for those who have been given Given New Life 1 Pet 1:3, begotten again and Imperatives given to them such as Repentance and Believing on Christ, which when obeyed give evidence of that New Life given already by Christ. The religionist however have taken those imperatives and imposed them upon the unregenerate, or the natural man, the flesh, that they must perform as conditions in order for God to save them; However Faith and Repentance are given in Salvation, accompany it, and are not conditions for it.

This awful Blasphemy promotes the notion that man must do something before the blood of Christ can be efficacious to the saving of a soul. This also suggests that man's input adds to the success of Christ's Saving Death, which eclipses the Truth of Salvation by Sovereign Grace, and hence gives man a reason to glory !

They legalize the Gospel !

They legalize the Gospel !

What is mean by legalizing the Gospel, that the Gospel Benefits of Christ's Finished work, in order to receive them, conditions are imposed. Usually those conditions are Faith, Repentance, or perhaps with some water baptism, and such who do so are guilty of legalizing the Gospel, and they are actually perverting the Gospel of God's Grace ! What this does is introduce works and law or commandment keeping into the Gospel. Faith in and of itself is a Spiritual Law of the Law that the Pharisees neglected Matt 23:23

23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

The Law here is that Mosaic Covenant, it is preceded by the definite article, so that Faith would be that Faith that Believes on Christ, for that Law was given as a School Master to Faith in Christ ! Gal 3:24

Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

Again, the Law here is preceded by the definite article as in above Matt 23:23, so Faith would be the same as well, that which looked for and believed in Christ !

So, even though Faith is a Spiritual Law, its a Law none the less, and imposing it as an condition for Salvation, is legalizing the Gospel and makes Salvation depend upon our works or keeping the Law !

The World God Saved !

The World God Saved !

For God to save the World Jn 3:17, He did not have to save everyone in it without exception and does not, for if He saved 1,2,3, or 1000 persons, He saved the World of His Purpose. As many as God ultimately saves or has saved, He saved the World that He Loved Jn 3:16,17. For this present kosmos /world exists for those who belong to Christ, His Church 1 Cor 3:21-22

21 Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are your's;

22 Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are your's;

23 And ye are Christ's; and Christ is God's.

This is God's World that He saved ! Now lets remember who Paul wrote these words to in Vs 16

16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

If God saved His Temple, He saves the World. Lets remember who defines World, its the greek word kosmos:

1) an apt and harmonious arrangement or constitution, order, government

2) ornament, decoration, adornment, i.e. the arrangement of the stars, 'the heavenly hosts', as the ornament of the heavens. 1 Pet. 3:3

3) the world, the universe

4) the circle of the earth, the earth

5) the inhabitants of the earth, men, the human family

6) the ungodly multitude; the whole mass of men alienated from God, and therefore hostile to the cause of Christ

7) world affairs, the aggregate of things earthly

a) the whole circle of earthly goods, endowments riches, advantages, pleasures, etc, which although hollow and frail and fleeting, stir desire, seduce from God and are obstacles to the cause of Christ

8) any aggregate or general collection of particulars of any sort

a) the Gentiles as contrasted to the Jews (Rom. 11:12 etc)

Remember God's Temple in the OT and the orderly arrangement given to construct it ? and to serve God in it ?

That's the World God Loved and Saved, His Temple

Faith in God is of the Law !

Faith in God is of the Law !

Matt 23:23

23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

Yes, Jesus identifies Faith as one of the more weighter matters of the Law.

First and foremost He means Faith or Believing in God ! Jn 14:1

Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

1 Pet 1:21

21 Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.

Faith here is Matt 23:23 means True spirituality, reverence, fear, Love and obedience unto God in Christ. The Law was given as a school master to Faith in Christ Gal 3:24, and True believing jews looked forward to Christ's Cross Work.

So now if we claim to be saved because of our Faith or act of believing, then we say we are saved by keeping one of the weightier matters of the Law, which Jesus says is Faith Matt 23:23, and this cannot be denied ! This is an automatic conclusion if we say Faith is a condition of man to perform in order for God to save or Justify us before Himself !

What his soul desireth, even that he doeth !

What his soul desireth, even that he doeth !

If God wills all men without exception to be saved and come into the knowledge of the Truth as per 1 Tim 2:4

4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

And if He is as Job describes Him here Job 23:13

13 But he is in one mind, and who can turn him? and what his soul desireth, even that he doeth.

And if its like how Daniel writes Dan 4:35

35 And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will/desire in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?

Then how is it that the all He wills to be saved and come into the knowledge of the Truth, not do just that ?

My testimony is that the all in 1 Tim 2:4 shall be saved and come into the Knowledge of the Truth or Job 23:13 and Dan 4:35 bare a false witness about God's desires ! The rest of mankind who does not be saved and come into the knowledge of the Truth, were not included in the all men of 1 Tim 2:4, just that simple !

The man of sin !

The man of sin !

2 Thess 2:3

Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

That man of sin is not any one person as is the phrase the Man of God refers not to just any one person

1 Tim 6:11

But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

2 Tim 3:17

That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

The man of sin is any man or number of men, that in the name of Christianity, have rejected the Truth of God, and teaches that which contradicts or opposes the Truth or what ignores the Truth 2 Thess 2:4

Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

2 Tim 2:25

In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;

For instance, to teach in the name of Christianity that the Lord Jesus Christ died for every single individual without exception, when the scripture does not teach that, but teaches that He died for His Church Eph 5:25

25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

Or His Sheep Jn 10:15

15 As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.

The Ethiopic version is said to render this :

"I lay down my life for the redemption of my sheep".

They are the man of sin because, because they are walking according to the prince of the power of the air, which is the spirit of satan, who energizes who are in the flesh apart from New Birth in Christ, so void of the Spirit are they Jude 1:19

19 These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.

Paul writes Rom 8:9

9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

And of course that explains why they contradict, oppose, and reject the Truth, having not themselves been taught by the Spirit of Truth !

Get thee behind me satan !

Get thee behind me satan !

Matt 16:23

But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God,. but those that be of men.

I'm sure all of us may be familiar of the Lord's words here on this occasion with Peter. Many also have referenced this incident as Christ calling Peter a devil on the same notion as He surely does with judas, the Son of perdition Jn 6:70

70 Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil?

Notice Jesus said only one of them is a devil, not Two as to include Peter !

So I do not agree that Jesus was calling Peter a devil as He did judas, but for His words to Peter, the reason for His statement is given us in the very same comment, which is:

For thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men

You see that ? Jesus is pointing out that to savour e things of men over that of the hings of God, is of satan.

The word savourest is the greek word phroneō:

1) to have understanding, be wise

2) to feel, to think

a) to have an opinion of one's self, think of one's self, to be modest, not let one's opinion (though just) of himself exceed the bounds of modesty

b) to think or judge what one's opinion is

c) to be of the same mind i.e. agreed together, cherish the same views, be harmonious

3) to direct one's mind to a thing, to seek, to strive for

a) to seek one's interest or advantage

b) to be of one's party, side with him (in public affairs)

Jesus was not condemning His Beloved Disciple to be a devil, but at that moment, his mindset, thinking was the issue. Peter at that time manifested a mind set that was in opposition to the purpose of God, which set purpose is mentioned in Vs 21

21 From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day.

His Death and Resurrection. This purpose was already predetermined by God the Father as seen here Lk 22:22

22 And truly the Son of man goeth, as it was determined: but woe unto that man by whom he is betrayed!

Acts 2:23

23 Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:

Acts 4:27-28

27 For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together,

28 For to do whatsoever thy hand and thy counsel determined before to be done.

But Peter reacting out of human emotion against that which God has determined to be in His Purpose, such behavior is satanic, its influenced by satan, its opposes the things that be of God as in 2 Thess 2:4

4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

Opposing the Eternal Truths of God's Gospel, its counsels and determinations, which one counsel of it is brought out in Matt 16:21,is satanic. When we question God's absolute Sovereignty in Salvation as set forth in scripture as in Rom 9:11-20, that savoring the things of man and its satanic. Notice Paul's answer to questioning God's Sovereignty in Salvation Rom 9:20

20 Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus?

This o man is savoring the things of man over the things that be of God Matt 16:23.

That's right, man replying back to God in His Purpose of Salvation and Reprobation according to His Sovereignty alone, is savoring the things of men, its a mindset of the natural man, over the things of God, and that's satanic . Get thee behind me satan, for:

thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.

Rejecting Salvation by Grace !

Rejecting Salvation by Grace !

We reject Salvation by Grace and make it by debt when we reject Salvation by Grace only for a Elect People [The Election of Grace] and the rest being rejected. The normal reaction to this is that if God does not give all men without exception an opportunity, a chance to be saved by Grace, then He is unfair, then upon that premise, Grace becomes a debt owed to everyone, God owes it to all men, and once it becomes that, its no longer Grace.

So man by nature rejects Salvation by Grace, because when its by Grace it is discriminatory by the nature of it. If we say it should be available to all without discrimination, then we are saying it is owed to everyone and God becomes man's debtor !
