The Dumbocrats also have problems. All they can find to run are socialists or communists.
Decided to share this thought, because I think it's an important one...careful with the name calling. Why? The same reason I once suggested we fill the ranks of our army with kids and old people. Because that way if you lose you don't have to feel badly about it. :plain:

Remember how the (D)'s used to get so defensive when we pointed out their socialist ideology? Well now they don't hide it, they are trying to get a socialist elected to fix many of the problems they caused.

Personally, I think it will be a good thing if Rubio and others split the Repukelican Potty in half. We have needed a strong alternative to the Demoncrats and the Repukelicans for a long time, and if Rubio and others leave and start another party, we may finally get it.

Somehow the Trump discussion spilled over into Quixote's. I think more people will benefit from it here, so:

was it the only reason?
It was one of few given. I've quoted it.

Here's another bit from an article in The Wire:

  • Duke ran for governor of Louisiana in 1991 as a Republican, and Trump said at the time that President George H.W. Bush was right “to come out against” Duke’s campaign. Duke lost but he won a majority of the white vote — which Trump found troubling. “I hate seeing what it represents,” Trump said, referring to what he called the “anger vote.”
  • In 2000, Trump considered running for the Reform Party presidential nomination but did not run because he said he did not want to be associated with Pat Buchanan, who had left the Republican Party to seek the Reform Party nomination, and David Duke, who supported Buchanan. Trump at the time called Duke “a bigot, a racist, a problem.”
Or, "The Reform Party now includes a Klansman, Mr. Duke, a neo-Nazi, Mr. Buchannan, and a communist, Ms. Fulani." Donald Trump, as reported in New York Times, Feb. 14, 2000

Trump understood the man and the Klan. It's not reasonable to think he's forgotten either.
