ECT What is the Gospel?

There is one Gospel. When declared in the volatile setting of 1st century Judea, it had the potential to correct Israel from its inclination to revolt against Rome in a fantasy messianic attempt. Jesus did everything he could to make that correction. It was forgiveness from God through what he would accomplish. Even to the very moment of the Gospel events, it shocked and alarmed his closest. It still took 40 days of seminar for them to realize that is what the OT is about and all that it is about.

What you don't realize is that death of either party terminates a marriage.

So who is Christ's bride?

Romans 7:4 Therefore, my brethren, you also have become dead to the law through the body of Christ that you may be married to another - to Him who was raised from the dead that we should bear fruit to God.

Married simply means joining things together into one - as in the phrase "marrying ideas together."

Notice this very principle in the following...

1 Corinthians 6:15 Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid. 6:16 What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh. 6:17 But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.

You NEVER post the passages that supposedly assert this books based nonsense of yours.

Why?

Because it is nothing more than your parroting of your decades in books written by parrots quoting prior parrots all the way back to when the Jeusuit: Luis Alcazar invented the Preterist unbelief you mostly hold to.

Try the Scripture.

So.. ya' think the Holy Spirit spins out fantasies, do ya'?

Luk 1:67 And his father Zacharias was filled with the Holy Ghost, and prophesied, saying,
Luk 1:68 Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed his people,
Luk 1:69 And hath raised up an horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David;
Luk 1:70 As he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets, which have been since the world began:
Luk 1:71 That we should be saved from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us;
Luk 1:72 To perform the mercy promised to our fathers, and to remember his holy covenant;
Luk 1:73 The oath which he sware to our father Abraham,
Luk 1:74 That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear,
Luk 1:75 In holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life.

Doesn't matter; IP is books based, not Spirit based.

What is the Gospel?
Which gospel? Gospel equals good news and there's more than one gospel in the Bible.
It seems the intractable debate of this forum is whether there is 1 gospel or 2.
There "is" not presently two gospels, but during the time of the Acts of the apostles, there were two running side by side (Galatians 2:7 KJV).

Rather than talking around the problem or attacking each other, can we just cut to the chase?
Sure.

What gospel did Jesus preach?
The gospel of the kingdom
What gospel did Paul preach?
the gospel of God
the gospel of Christ
the gospel of the grace of God

How are they the same/different?
The very requirement(s) for salvation are different!

Those of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John and Hebrews through Revelation's salvation was dependent upon them doing something by faith (James 2:18 KJV):

Repent, and believe the gospel (Mark 1:4 KJV) by baptism of repentance for the remission of sins (Mark 1:4 KJV, Mark 16:16 KJV, Acts 2:38 KJV), keep the commandments (John 14:15 KJV, Matthew 23:2-3 KJV, John 15:5-10 KJV), endure to the end to be saved (Matthew 10:22 KJV), go through the trial of their faith (1 Peter 1:7 KJV), receiving the end of their faith, even the salvation of their souls (1 Peter 1:9 KJV). That salvation is of the grace that "should" come unto them (Acts 15:11 KJV, 1 Peter 1:10 KJV). They look forward that their sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord (which is at what many refer to as the second coming of the Lord (Acts 3:19-21 KJV).

The requirement of our salvation today/to be in the church which is His Body is solely based upon the faith of Jesus Christ (Galatians 2:16 KJV) and His finished work on the cross in our place (Romans 4:25 KJV, 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 KJV apart from our works (Romans 6:23 KJV, Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV, Titus 3:4-7 KJV)! To be saved today is to trust the Lord believing the gospel of Christ (1 Corinthians 15:1-4 KJV) which is where the righteousness of God is revealed (Romans 1:16-17 KJV). Those who have trusted the Lord today having believed the gospel of Christ "are saved" presently (1 Corinthians 1:18 KJV, 1 Corinthians 15:2 KJV,Ephesians 2:5 KJV, Ephesians 2:8 KJV). We are baptized BY one Spirit into one Body (not by water for the remission of sins 1 Corinthians 12:13 KJV). We have now received the atonement (Romans 5:11 KJV).

Translation: There is one gospel for all nationalities and another gospel for Jews.

Heir's views are anti-Semitic in spirit and unbiblical altogether.

The word "gospel" is from an Old English word comprised of the words "god" - an even earlier form of the word "good" - and the word "spel" - an early form of the word "spell" referring to the telling of a thing, as in our modern "tell it to me, spell it out..."

And that is just one word in the 500 year old Early Modern English of the KJV.

Would that someone modernized it without screwing up the intended sense of the passages.

For its English continues to throw many off (including some within Mid-Acts).

But the modern "translations" too often continue to spell things out in ways that end up with intended sense "lost in translation..."

I hold to a Mad Perspective, more or less, that differs in some things with how heir and her "camp" understands them.

One thing I have NEVER seen in ANY of her posts is this accusation of yours that heir's views are anti-semetic.

What, pray tell, are you rambling on about now, nang?

There is but one Gospel. In a fast food society that likes just snippets it is wrong to assume that but the concise summary of the Gospel in 1 Cor 15 is the only time that Paul calls something "the Gospel". For example, the entire letter of Romans is repeatedly referred to by Paul as "my Gospel".

There may be a shorthand way of saying certain things to people that already understand something, but there are no shortcuts by just saying a minimal number of words to a listener and assuming that the person listening has understood the Gospel. Sentences in the scriptures are not incantations. We are called to press these things into the understanding of our hearers and explain and argue for certain ideas. We may start out with something very basic but will have to give further explanation or correction of something if somebody is inferring something improperly.

Just consider what should be presupposed in a concise statement of the Gospel in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4. For example, "sins" presupposes a moral inability; "our" presupposes a marking out of persons, "died for" presupposes particularization of persons; "rose again" presupposes a calling that is effective and perseverance. If a person develops an understanding which undermines this basic theological framework he or she denies the basis of the Gospel and thereby weakens one's own faith.

At the end of the day, people need to stop and consider how one could accurately present any Gospel that denied man's rebellion in sin, the right of God to punish men for their sin, God's sending of Christ out of His mere grace and not for anything they deserved, Christ dying on a Cross for Sin satisfying the wrath of God for the ones who believe, Christ saving to the uttermost all who are drawn near, God loving us before we loved him, or even the power of the Gospel to be the source of life.

So IOW, it takes decades and thousands of sermons and many teachers to understand the gospel to be saved?

Her whole approach to Scripture is with an attitude of keeping the Jews separate from the spiritual body (church) of Christ. And she abuses and twists the clear message of scripture, with her own commentaries, in order to do so.

That is nonsense on your part - heir has NEVER posted that lost Jews this side of Israel's fall can not get saved by trusting that Christ died for their sins, and as a result, IN THAT INSTANT become members of the Body of Christ.

And if she did, I would post my different understanding on such a thing, were there one; and you know this, nang - her and hers don't even acknowledge most of my posts anymore for my posting my difference in understandings in contrast to hers/theirs on some things.

YOU do NOT know WHAT YOU are talking about, as to this supposed anti-semetic slur you are SLANDERING her with.
