Under Obama the number of deporations have been at an all time high, much higher than under Bush.
Some immigrant advocates have even referred to Obama as the "Deporter In Chief".

All the while calling for amnesty.

Besides, the simple fact that the deportations have been numerically greater doesn't really mean anything in and of itself.

That's nothing more than a plainly idiotic defense for ignoring illegal immigration. There's not a single place on the planet that wasn't conquered by foreigners. The Natives themselves, even. Sitting there mythologizing them as these innocent demigods does not do you all any favors.

I am anti-immigration, don't get me wrong. But you don't see the irony in saying this isn't the old world while at the same time wanting to build a giant wall?

My biggest problem with the wall idea is the funding. As I posted earlier, Trump can't say in one breath that other counties must pay for their own defense and in the next say Mexico must pay for the Great Wall of America.

Liberals tried their best to make it appear as if there is cause for concern, but a country who puts trillions of dollars into their military, and huge amounts of money for public housing- two things that have spiraled out of control and nobody is doing anything about- has no business sitting there making excuses about spending where it is actually necessary.

If you took the ideology all the way that we shouldn't do anything about illegal immigration because we took the land from the Natives, it would by extension be wrong for us to keep the land from being conquered.

It sounds ridiculous because it is ridiculous- it's saying we don't deserve to be a nation that should strive to keep illegal immigrants from taking advantage of our jobs and support systems
