Yet, you folks seem to think you must continue to do good works in order to keep yourselves saved?
No sir.....I can't speak for others.....but loving kindness is reciprocal....pleasing works towards GOD are because one believes in the love of GOD, and are due to GOD, because of GOD. Good works are done because they are known by self to be good in the sight of GOD. in other words; one does because they both have the GOD given capacity to do, and the direction and discernment to know it is good to do; not for reward, not for salvation, not to help Christ save us; but because we believe Christ, and attempt to follow the law of the Spirit written on our hearts and imprinted on our minds.

You can preach all the good news you want, but what are you doing to show the grace and mercy and Spirit and Christ of GOD, and the self sacrifice Jesus made if your actions are contrary to your words or worse; contrary to the teachings of command of the Christ?

Popsthebuilder, didn't clarify what he said above? I guess he's out building another House with no walls, floors, ceilings, windows, and doors?
I'm sorry; what's that sir?

What is it you need me to clarify? I'll be happy to try. I don't know what need you have to stab at my profession though.

You're right, Glorydaz, as usual. Jesus didn't come to earth, just to be a good example,' He came to shed His blood for the sins of a world of lost sinners.' Someone once said; "Christ is the ONLY one who was ever was born into this world, whose reason for being born, was to die."

Amen, brother. :thumb:

John 3: 19. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

John 3: 19. And this is the test by which men are judged--the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness more than they loved the Light, because their deeds were wicked. 20. For every wrongdoer hates the light, and does not come to the light, for fear his actions should be exposed and condemned. 21. But he who does what is honest and right comes to the light, in order that his actions may be plainly shown to have been done in God.

(But we aren't to believe that obedience means anything?!?!)

Proverbs 25:28 He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls.
