The Two Natures of the Christian

Repentance means a person does not continue to practice sin.

The koiné Greek word for "repentance" is metanoia (met-an'-oy-ah). One of its meanings is reversal; viz: to think differently; to reconsider and/or change one's mind.

For example; born-again Christians who refuse to believe that the passages below apply to them need to come to their senses.

1John 1:8-10 . . If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

The pronouns "we" and "us" and "our" implicate the apostle John, the author of that epistle. Obviously he had not yet ceased to practice sin when he penned it; and I honestly don't think he ever expected to cease practicing sin; not in this life anyway.

As long as we are on this earth in our Adamic bodies we are sinners, Romans 3:10.

Our hope is in Jesus Christ. When he appears we will appear with him, Colossians 3:4.

Spiritually we are perfect and complete "In Christ" Colossians 2:10. But we are not "In Christ" yet.

Before you surrendered your members as instruments of wickedness NOW they are to be surrendered as instruments of righteousness

Mortify sin, put it to death, that is what the Holy Ghost is given for.

If you carry a shopping bag of grocery to a poor neighbour you'll need those Adamic legs to do it...and your neighbour will bless God for you.

God calls you His beloved child

What is sin in the context of the NT?

The answer to your question is located between Matt 1:1 and Rev 22:21. It's all there in black and white and sometimes even in red letters.

FYI: Personally I have no respect for people too lazy to read the Bible for themselves.

Wrong answer, we have been given a perfect law by which we are judged with regard to what we say and do.

A family without rules is a family without leadership. You're selling God short.

This is the age of grace and faith.

Christians now live by faith and Spirit, not laws and religion.

You want to live by religion. Religion has been abolished, Ephesions 2:15.

This is the age of grace and faith.

The age of grace and faith began with righteous Abel. Israel was saved from the Egyptians by grace and faith. Abraham was saved by grace and faith.

Did Jesus' works earn him salvation or was he saved by grace and faith?

The work of Christ was imputed to Abraham, Romans 4:21-25. Grace and faith are related to Christ and his Gospel.

So if an uncircumcised Gentile was saved by grace and faith why can't Catholics and Calvanistas be saved by grace and faith?

Do you believe in freedom of religion? Many men and women risked life and limb to defend that freedom for you.

They can be if they accept God's great free gift of salvation that has been provided by Jesus Christ.

I believe in freedom of religion. I also believe in freedom from religion.
