It will even out, more or less, and what matters, if anything, is if you have some rep, then when I see someone I do not know, I have an idea how they get along/ that is about it, really

yep, i don't put too much weight on it, but you're right because it shows who makes sense for the most part. we know something good comes from high repped, often repped members. i respect large reps - :singer:
well this thread ran it's course. everyone put in their 2 cents.
the rep has hit a wall for me. tapered off. i haven't had a rep in three hours. maybe it was scaled back

I wrote about what Res told me to try to stop what Town was saying. I may have misunderstood but I thought he was talking about having the ability to dump one's rep number like pressing a button...
And why did he post what he did (whether I correctly interpreted the leaning or not?)
Because the system can't represent our value. Right?

Would John The Baptist have high rep? Would The Lord?
Does it show who writes one way or another? Cleverly, or thoughtfully or challengingly or anything, really?

I didn't want Town to say what he said because I don't want some to dump their reps to show they are great and wonderful without them or something like that.
Because they would reduce it to "the have's" vs "the have nots" of the rep system and would simply divide us further - which is so unnecessary.
I love that Ktoyou asked Meshak if she was passing along the pos reps she was getting! I love that Patrick gave her pos rep to welcome her back!
Giving and receiving are important!

Maybe you didn't understand me. Doesn't seem like you did. Or maybe you overlooked what I said for a while to go after the thing I said when no one cared for the more selfless points. Maybe that's it. Let's see (but I bet that's it).

Where I was when I suggested being able to turn the number off and just use the system for side bar encouragement or that maybe rep should represent our generosity instead of the generosity of others.They would if the number was about giving and not receiving.
It doesn't, which is why I wrote earlier that the number would never incline anyone to think more or less of a post (or poster) as it stands.
I think that if you find yourself taking issue with a thing you wouldn't have had it been suggested by someone else you might be zeroing in on a problem.
No, that's precisely what happened after the reset. What's wrong with you anyway? Why can't you set aside your personal, watered down animosity (yes, yes, I know you sprinkle complimentary sugar all over it now and then, just enough, I'd imagine, to tell yourself you're being fair) and really listen and respond to what I'm actually saying?
How neat would that be.

you know what rainee, i know nothing of the sort, as far as i can tell "dumping" rep isn't possible. if i rep you once, i have to rep 5 others before repping you again. we ALL get only 60 in 24 hours, how can anybody dump ? i suppose one could possibly give about 9 or 10 reps to one person in 24 hours. that's it, it must be spread out. i didn't appreciate your namecalling and accusations in your rep comment to me. i'm not a big baby - i'm a manchild - lol lighten up
