Well, I won't after today. When I go back to being scarce around here, I'm sure that'll make some people pretty happy. :chuckle:

No, that's what you chose to make it into. I'm noting that when anyone attempts to inorganically grow that number it's aimed at something. Something that must be important to the person willing to adopt a methodology at odds with the point of the term and their and other's normal "organic" approach to it. And that something is dishonest.
Dishonesty is important, wee or grand.
Now LH makes the legless point that we aren't being forced to participate, but what he really means is like it or go away, which distinguishes the sort of person who'd rather have the "benefit" of a public distortion from those offended by the practice to begin with.
I'm going to sum the rest by saying you're in a hard position to understand this by virtue of your condition, but most of humanity is comprised of highly social animals. Feedback is important and I suspect that part of the reason this seems or feels even relatively important to folks, beyond the principle of fair-play. That the response is rooted in that human experience and the cues that translate.
I don't have a rep thread - ive never created one. Lighthouse explained to you what those threads are, and there have been threads like that right in the "and the rest" forum right out in the open for everyone plenty of times too, where it was asked for people to rep the person above them.
If im not mistaken, you even participated in them. Is that the kind of thing you mean?
Ill rep whoever i please, in whatever increments i please, for whatever reason i please, and you can do the same thing cant you?
PS, i recall several times where i have repped YOU, multiple times in a single day before, did that bother you?

Hello, i think you need reread my post. There have been threads made right in the open forum for reps, back when eeset was complaining about reps all the time, saying to rep the person above them.
They were NOT invisible and i know for a fact others here remember them.
Ask Chrys, he made one of them, i think town made one (or posted in it), sherman when she was called Inzl made one, etc..
PS I cant believe how bitter you have become, i havent been disingenuous about anything. You have been downright nasty to tambora for no reason.

They are exactly the same thing as lighthouse explained to you, a thread where we rep each other. Period.
There have been plenty of them that do the exact same thing, openly.
Easy, if you dont want to do that, then dont. You can use your reps any way you want, like i can.

No, you can't post in some parts of TOL. So what? Even without threads created for the intended purpose of passing out reps to those who post within it is still possible to go about giving reps to everyone in that area in all the other threads within.
So, the bottom line is that it doesn't make a difference if those threads exist and/or whether or not you are allowed to post in them, etc. You can do exactly what we do in the open threads. So stop being a whiny little snit.
