they should be wrapping up, i'm sure the media will dissect this over and over in the coming days, declaring winners and losers - (so we don't have to)

It was way too long. Once again Trump ended up with the most speaking time, without saying much of anything. But then, no one else said much of anything either.

the exchange between jindal and lindsey was really interesting
jindal wanted to shut down the government over planned parenthood funding
lindsey claimed that might put another democrat in the white house

Agreed. The candidates often had less than a full sentence out before Tapper was saying "thank you" and trying to move on. But then, we would have missed a confrontation between Trump and Rand Paul that was actually pretty good.
I think it had some great moments. The undercard even had a decent moment for Santorum of all people, advocating raising the minimum wage. But it was just so long, and the pace was so fast. They really need to get the main event down to about four people, maybe Trump, Carson, Cruz, and Fiorina based on the most recent polls, and give them the time to actually get a point out. It's easier for Trump to win by being the loudest and lousiest when the stage is full of people.

Dems won't fare any better. The DNC debates will be like Theatre of the Absurd.
