Real Science Friday: Anti-Creationist AronRa YouTube Star

A correction?

Yep. If you're willing to make a correction, people tend to give you more credibility than otherwise. Give it a try. I'm wondering why all the pettifogging about "he was claimed to be one of the web's leading anti-creationists, being a "YouTube Star" (and his contributions are almost exclusively on YouTube) and "AronRa" is touted as one of the "web's leading anti-creationists" because of his YouTube videos."

The difference is rather subtle; I figure it's mostly to draw attention from the fact that he was presented as a "leading anti-creationist" because of his YouTube videos.

Did hell freeze over?

That will probably happen when some of you are willing to admit you're wrong.

Where else can you find free science videos that doesn't require special software to download?

Everywhere.

Here's a really cool site that can help you find many more of them:

When did the light go off in your head on this one?

Give it a try.

I do all the time; you were too busy plotting your next argument to ever notice.

I don't know what pettifogging is. Yes, evidently he is one of the web's leading anti-creationists, evidently based on the number of people who have come across him during their time on the web. Youtube will get you lot's of exposure to the general public. Having videos on obscure websites won't give you much exposure to the non-scientific credentialed public.

The difference is rather subtle; I figure it's mostly to draw attention from the fact that he was presented as a "leading anti-creationist" because of his YouTube videos.

What subtle difference are you referring to?

That will probably happen when some of you are willing to admit you're wrong.

I have done so many times on particular claims I have made before.

This is why people find you distasteful. That was obvious sarcasm and ridicule. Of course you will find them on google, but not every search word you attempt to use will bring up the videos you say exists. You have to know where to look and you know that.

(Barbarian suggests to Voltaire that it might also be good for him to admit when he makes an error)

When did the light go off in your head on this one?

About 1965. Not for you, for me. The second time I saw you post, I realized it for you.

Barbarian muses:
I'm wondering why all the pettifogging about "he was claimed to be one of the web's leading anti-creationists, being a "YouTube Star" (and his contributions are almost exclusively on YouTube) and "AronRa" is touted as one of the "web's leading anti-creationists" because of his YouTube videos."

I don't know what pettifogging is.

Trying to change the subject by fussing about meaningless differences.

Yes, evidently he is one of the web's leading anti-creationists, evidently based on the number of people who have come across him during their time on the web. Youtube will get you lot's of exposure to the general public.

So will FOX News. But they don't usually have a clue about science, either.

Barbarian observes:
The difference is rather subtle; I figure it's mostly to draw attention from the fact that he was presented as a "leading anti-creationist" because of his YouTube videos.

I see that you've also concluded that his YouTube videos establish him as a "leading anticreationist." Appreciate the support.

Barbarian, asked where one could possibly find accurate and scientific videos on the net:
Everywhere.
http://www.freesciencelectures.com/
http://videoclips.mrdonn.org/science.html
http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/nature/

This is why people find you distasteful. That was obvious sarcasm and ridicule.

Why did you ask then?

Of course you will find them on google, but not every search word you attempt to use will bring up the videos you say exists.

See above. There are probably hundreds at those sites, and there are many, many other places. Would you like some more?

You have to know where to look and you know that.

It isn't hard to do. Seriously. It's not hard.

Also, when you type into Google "who are the web's leading anti-creationists?", four of the first five hits are AronRa.

Interesting. Let's take a look...

I asked barbarian what pettifogging meant.

Quote:
I don't know what pettifogging is.

Barbarian responds and reveals what a hypocrite he is:

Trying to change the subject by fussing about meaningless differences.

This is classic barbarian. My first post in this thread asked you if you had a point because you were talking about things that had nothing to do with the point of the thread. I ask again. What the hell was your point in your first post on this thread? What does it have to do with the subject of the thread?

It was in the header of the OP. How is that not relevant?

Just pointing out that this person, who might be very knowledgeable, is not actually a leading anti-creationist on the web. There are many who are more prominent.

What does it have to do with the subject of the thread?

The claim in the OP.

By what measure?

Is there some sort of ranking we should know about?

No, it was not. Why do you see things that are not there? Do you have imaginary friends too?

Nice for pointing out your opinion. Care to back it up?

The claim in the OP.

It has nothing to do with the claim in the OP. Isn't having delusions an embarassment to you?

It's one thing to make a mistake. You shouldn't be upset about that. To persist in it after realizing it was a mistake, that's not a good idea.
