Paul in Ephesus

Acts 19:1 While Apollos was at Corinth, Paul took the road through the interior and arrived at Ephesus. There he found some disciples 2and asked them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?”

They answered, “No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.”

3 So Paul asked, “Then what baptism did you receive?”

“John’s baptism,” they replied.

4Paul said, “John’s baptism was a baptism of repentance. He told the people to believe in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus.” 5 On hearing this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 6 When Paul placed his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in tongues and prophesied. 7 There were about twelve men in all.

Did you read that?

Paul asked some men, some disciples of JOHN if they received the HOLY SPIRIT (which is a gift that Jesus promised while he walked the earth); the men said they didn't even hear of a Holy Spirit.

SO THEN WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

Paul says JOHN TOLD THE PEOPLE TO BELIEVE ON JESUS.

THEN they received the Holy Spirit.

That is what PAUL said.

He profoundly and make clear that the preaching to BELIEVE IN JESUS is what saves---and that is what Jesus, and all his apostles taught, and Paul taught the same.

Matthew 16:21 From that time on Jesus began to explain to his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things at the hands of the elders, the chief priests and the teachers of the law, and that he must be killed and on the third day be raised to life.

Matthew 12:40
For just as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

Matthew 17:23
They will kill Him, and on the third day He will be raised to life." And the disciples were deeply grieved.

Matthew 20:18
"Look, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and scribes. They will condemn Him to death

Matthew 20:19
and will deliver Him to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified. And on the third day He will be raised to life."

Matthew 28:6
He is not here; He has risen, just as He said! Come, see the place where He lay.

This is what even the enemies of Jesus knew:

Matthew 27:63
"Sir," they said, "we remember that while He was alive that deceiver said 'After three days I will rise again.'

Satanic liar-you've been shown, for years, troll, that the 12, prior to the dbr, knew nothing about the impending dbr:

Luke 18 KJV

31 Then he took unto him the twelve, and said unto them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of man shall be accomplished.

32 For he shall be delivered unto the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and spitefully entreated, and spitted on:

33 And they shall scourge him, and put him to death: and the third day he shall rise again.

34 And they understood none of these things: and this saying was hid from them, neither knew they the things which were spoken.

Read it,troll-the believers, prior to the resurrection, had no idea it would occur:

John 20:9 KJV

For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead.

After the resurrection occurred, they all denied it, as you've been shown.

And notice the deceiver omits Matthew 16:22 KJV..

22 Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee.

Peter tries to prevent his death, the very death that would reconcile him, knowing NADA re. 1 Cor. 15:1-4 KJV

I have proven with scripture that Jesus and his disciples taught to BELIEVE IN JESUS.

I have proven with scriptures that people, even his enemies KNEW that HE PREACHED he would die and rise again.

Can one "BELIEVE IN JESUS," but deny the resurrection, or not know of it, and still be saved?

It's a simple question, to your argument, troll-give all of TOL a simple "Yes," or "No"-now.

There are multiple pieces of good news in Sacred Scripture, but if we are to consider what is meant by "the Gospel" whenever Scripture reads "the Gospel," where believing "the Gospel" is efficacious saving Christian faith, and wherever "the Gospel" is the summary of all the scriptures, then it'd be that "He is risen." 2nd Timothy 2:8 KJV Romans 10:9 KJV

John W. cannot get around it.

JESUS TAUGHT his last will and testament and then he died.

He promised the Holy Spirit and eternal life.

The Holy Spirit was not yet given until after he died.

Who preaches not to obey and believe Jesus like John W. and all the others here who are confused?

What is it?

(note to MADs and any others who know there's more than one: please refrain from debating this one. I expect very few responses to this question; whatever responses it does get will almost certainly be evasive and dishonest. Thanks much.)

There are clearly four gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Obviously.
