The gospel of our salvation is not in the Acts of the apostles. Everything was changing. The gospel and doctrine to the Body of Christ is found in the form words of Romans through Philemon! Why do you think they confessed their sins after they believed?
Acts 19:18 And many that believed came, and confessed, and showed their deeds.

Those having only faith in the WHO of Jesus Christ aren't saved because they have not trusted the WHY of the cross (1 Corinthians 15:1-4 KJV) which is the power of God (1 Corinthians 1:18 KJV) unto every one that believeth (Romans 1:16 KJV).A person could believe that Jesus is the Messiah and still not be saved because they have not repented of their sins.
