Obama says racism is genetic

Yes, you did. Or, as someone else pointed out, this is just an example of childish literalism run amok.

Since when did you guys ever take Obama at his word?:kookoo:

I've pretty much had the same reaction every time he opens his mouth. He's an idiot. Worse yet, he thinks we're idiots. And just because some are doesn't mean we all are. So, are you admitting you're one of those "idiots" who claims to understand "idiot speak"?

Uh...yeah. It figures that when he hits the nail on the head suddenly his critics get unhinged and actually take him literally, either because they're playing dumb or because they're genuinely dim.

What he said and what he meant's obvious.

If that's true, then racists are simply being who they naturally are because it's what they are. That means racism is perfectly normal, cannot be helped, should never be judged, and you're a bigoted racistphobe if you judge them.

The exact reason Hitler justified ' ethnic and human cleansing". Bad DNA. Perhaps "Christians" maybe also classified, shortly.

That is being used as a metaphor.
Although he has more 'hangups' then me. In other words, I am more aware than him!
For me, the term, 'raciest' is a colloquialism from the early 20th century to describe another colloquialism, 'racialism' taken, and well understood, in the 19th century.
In all, this mode of thought is now two centuries outdated!

I read a short sci-fi story back in the '90s about a Muslim scientist who found a breakthrough weapon that targeted some specific gene carried by Jews. Very interesting but utterly outlandish and meaningless at the time.

At the time.

Some sad citizens in America are bent on "interpreting" what Obama is "really" saying.

If Obama even gives a nod to future world peace, then he must be attacked for being a passive doormat. If his family makes any gesture or word like any other family does, Obama is criticized for raising his kids like a Muslim or an incompetent or some other categorization and label.

Top GOP politicians and strategists were called to a special meeting over drinks and steak at the same time Obama was giving his acceptance speech to the nation from Denver.

They all took a solemn oath to defeat anything Obama would do when in office. They devised a conspiracy to stand in his way and kick him in the teeth whenever they could.

This tyrannical goal has resulted in members of Congress inserting their treasonous, narrow agendas into serious negotiations and diplomatic outreach concerning the nuclear capabilities of Iran.

Then why does no leftist use the same metaphor about homosexuality? Only a very few ignorant homo-lovers still claim a "gay gene" has been found. But NO ONE ever says, even if only metaphorically, "it's in their DNA." Why might that be?

He. Used. A. Metaphor.

Nothing--absolutely nothing--about this is difficult to understand.

I don't know why you seriously attempt this one. In their DNA is almost trite for the use it gets popularly.

I did a quick google on the phrase and it turned up any number of examples:

D.I.Y. Is in Their DNA - The New York Times

Digital in Their DNA - JWT.com

"It's in their DNA!" That is a common response when someone asks, "What makes that company so customer focused?" From Customer Focused DNA

Deep Water - It’s in Their DNA

It's just a phrase used by all sorts of people and almost none of them literally.

I did write the answer out, but this computer went on to another page, and that is why i stay offline, these things (computers) drive me crazy.

He is speaking as if to say it is culturally embedded, yet his mistake is saying it is embedded furthers the embedding, not shake it lose.

I know I either better understand this than Obama does, or he has another reason to placate to this unfortunate classifying some people as being different than other people, in an intrinsic manner.

ohhhhh!,now I see, when they said it's in their d.n.a. about homosexuality so they can establish laws they want we go to Websters dictionary and the definition says "not an allegory, intent to be spoken with full awareness of actuality ect....",,,

And when they say "it's in their d.n.a." when they speak about racism then we should see the notation and follow it to the explanation were it say's "not really, were not going to start a movement called (equal rights for racist),,,

I guess it's just all words that are easily re-arranged and I should have been used to it by now seeing that the accepted thought is that it is proper to take the bible(just words to most), and close it and hold it out and give it a good shake (to mix up all the words real good),then open it up to see if it matches the accepted doctrine. I keep shaking mine shaking and shaking and shaking but every time I open it it's just not saying what is accepted,,,"please shake it for me I'm getting tired",,,

It is if your IQ is that of an average sized rock. Seems to be a common trait of the right wingers on this site.

You guys are so easily fooled.

The fact is we know what a metaphor is. We know what Bambi was trying to say. We know he's an idiot who can't keep from saying stupid things. And we know his followers will be shocked when we "just don't get it". :chuckle:

It does give us a lot of entertainment, though, so don't stop just because you might feel foolish one of these days.
It's like we're the parents who chuckle when the kid thinks we're too old to get it. :carryon:
