At this point, the Ukrainians are providing that hedge of defense for us. But yes, we do need to do more at home. Problem is, reactionary conservatives wouldn't let it happen. There are already phony cries of "socialism" and all that jazz.

Must be so easy to live in a world where all of these people fit neatly into your silly little box should they lose their jobs? No guarantee obviously as Musk has already done a U turn after trying to get out of the acquisition deal to start with.
People who deny others their first amendment freedom of speech should not only lose their jobs, they should lose their right to vote.

Wow, who's the censor now? Ironic to say the least and again, plenty of those folk who you glibly deem to be "lefties" and whatnot wouldn't be as you ignorantly bracket anyway.
People who have the freedom of speech in the public square can influence how thousands of people might vote. The censor's vote is only one vote. The censor would just be getting a slap on the wrist in light of the huge crime he committed.

Hmm, I have freedom of speech on here to the extent that I don't violate the established rules of the forum. There have been times where I've pushed the boundaries and been penalized for that but there have also been times where I've been unduly penalized for stuff I hadn't actually done and after appeal been reinstated. I don't regard the censor/s in the case of the latter to be deserving of committing a crime as these are social platforms and in light of that then you should apply that to Trump and why he was given the boot. He pushed the envelope on multiple occasions and was given a myriad warnings and ploughed on anyway. I'm presuming that's your beef with Twitter?
He had his own platform - what is it - "Truth Social"? Not doing very well by all given accounts...
