Hi. It does seem his attackers were troubled persons with a history of violence and mental problems. My feeling is Rittenhouse should not have taken the responsibility for guarding anything, since he was a minor and not part of a legally appointed posse.
I do blame the rightful authorities for not curbing this from occurring.
The boy may have acted in his own self defence but he should have not been there to begin with. I do hope he gets consideration from the court.

I agree. Some on the far left hate Rittenhouse for being a militant, but some on the far right are also making him into a hero. In reality, both extreme sides are seeing it through tinted lenses.
Rittenhouse was asked by a friend to protect his business he wasn’t a militant, which is the lefts narrative. The real blame is by the police who stood back and did nothing as folks businesses were burned to the ground.
Like I said, the left paints rittenhouse as militant, not me. I blame the police, but also the parties involved.
America has been experiencing massive violence and destruction at the hands of leftist thugs supported by the democrat party. Rittenhouse acted honorably, heroically, and responsibly to try to protect property being destroyed by those deranged leftist baboons. Democrats are wrong to shut down police departments and criminalize American resistance against the out-of-control insane violence.
Rittenhouse was wise to bring a gun to defend himself against armed leftist militants waging war against America in the streets of the city where his dad lives.
No, he was not at all wise for having a rifle. If you asked anyone on the jury if he was smart or mature having a gun at a potential riot, they would find it wise, or innocent. His case hinges to some extent on his age and presumed innocence by consideration of his youth.
If you really think he was wise being there with a rifle, you have some growing up to do.
No, you're not making sense here. Some Democrats may be as deranged as you assume, but you're being just as deranged by making it into an extremist "us and them" hate debate.
I don't think he was there to stop the riot; it may have just happened. The rifle was illegally automatic, and he was underage. But who else would have or more importantly should have stopped the riot.

Or are you buying into the messaging the prosecution was trying, that the very presence of the rifle was inciting, and thus he was responsible for the attacks which were perpetrated against him?

It was a pre-planned riot. Ironically, it was Rittenhouse who prevented its completion. None of the people he shot should be considered victims of anything other than there own evil natures.
He would have been far more sane not being on the streets that night. I bet he would agree with me now.
