I will not vote for trump

The point of rhetoric is persuasion, and he's got that fine-tuned for his target audience.

I don't like the man. But he certainly has a certain gift, and a natural aptitude for speaking to the average American.

A fifth grade aptitude generally won't belong to a millionaire.
He's a salesman/con man. His "gift" is his ability to feel out what some people want to hear and see, and then parrot it back to them. He plays a role in order to get scam what he wants. With Trump everything is about him.

In some respect that does make him a bit like Reagan. Reagan was a pitch-man/actor, chosen for his role as president by those who knew they could use his skills to sell their product. Yet where Reagan actually had to be convinced of the products by his handlers (e.g. Donald Regan), Trump sells things he knows to be lies and only depends upon his own counsel.

For over 35 years Republicans have sold Reagan as the ultimate example of a presidential hero. Closer examination shows that the economic decline of the middle class, and the nation as a whole (crumbling infrastructure, deficits, etc.) are directly attributable to policies initiated during his tenure. Another prime example might be his Middle East policies that we are suffering the effects of today. Does Iran/Contra sound familiar where he sold all sorts of arms to the Ayatollahs (including chemical and biological), while simultaneously selling similar arms to Saddam Hussein. Not to mention how the deal was cut even prior to his election when his people convinced Khomeini to hold onto the hostages until after he was sworn in as part of the weapons exchange deal, assuring Carter's defeat. In essence, Reagan was nothing more than a sales rep for Wall Street.

Trump, on the other hand, is in it for himself. His kids, likely groomed for molestation from the cradle, are similarly probably in it for themselves, depending on Daddy for their fortunes. Much like his wives who each had to sign confidentiality agreements during divorce proceedings in order to get their healthy stipends. But where a used car dealer is selling you on a lemon, Trump is conning you into buying an orange.

That's not true at all. People who are born into wealth very rarely lose it, and almost always multiply it. Because our whole system is designed to increase wealth, with wealth. Any lunkhead can make money with money, if he can get the excess money in the first place. And being born into great wealth pretty much guarantees that.

Add to that the fact that great wealth insulates people from reality to an amazing extent, and you can easily find wealthy adults with a fifth-graders level of maturity and worldliness that can maintain their level of wealth, and even increase it. As in fact, they don't have to know anything about finance, or even do anything at all. They can simply hire experts to do it all for them.

Donald Trump really is as stupid as he appears. And the fact that he's rich doesn't mitigate that at all. Other people take care of his money, for him. Just like they buy his groceries, cook his meals, clean his house, raise his kids, tell him where to go and when to be there and provide the vehicles to get him there. All he has to do is play "the Trump" for the cameras, and for the audience. He knows nothing of the lives of real people, and couldn't care less. He's nothing more than a professional TV personality. He even has to pay his wives to play the TV personality's wife, for him.

What does he really know about anything? Nothing. He doesn't need to. He's never needed to. He's always been a little rich boy play-acting the big rich man. He's the old cartoon character of 'Richie Rich' all grown up, and playing at politics, now. And he doesn't need to know anything more to play that role than he ever knew … which wasn't much.

It's amazing to watch Republicans falling in to "unite" behind him now.

Why is it so many millionaire sports stars and actors who you probably view as geniuses compared to trump end up with all their money gone and heavily in debt and on drugs or in jail?

Many trump supporters are not regular Republicans. Out of around fifteen candidates, he wins? Something wrong here? I think Donald Trump knows the reason why. :chew:

Trump is the next President, and I told you all that from the start, but you all think you're smarter than me :)

"So many" of them don't. Only a few of them do. And once addiction enters the picture, anyone is vulnerable.

Also, people who are not born wealthy are more vulnerable to falling for the excesses that wealth makes available. People who inherit money tend to receive wealth in the form of organized trusts that they can't abuse so easily.

The worst thing a rich lunkhead can do is try and control his own investments. He should let the pros take care of that. Money will make money in this culture if you just let it. The system is already set up for it.

If Mr. Rich wants to play market mogul he should set aside a portion of the whole for that, and leave the rest alone.

Once you have money, you have to work at squandering it in our culture.
