But - unless someone is black in this country, it's impossible to walk in the shoes of someone who is. If you're not black, if you don't have black ancestors who were treated like chattel, if you don't have people in your family who can still remember what it was like before the civil rights movement, if you don't feel the weight of prejudice, then you have no business telling blacks how they ought to feel about anything related to being black in America.

And you have even less business claiming you can sympathize with them. Even if they were STILL slaves, they wouldn't want your effete condescension. They'd want free but it was your kind that put them in chains and fought to keep them there.
