From chat: On Jesus and Homosexuality

I have seen you express that you support homos, but not homosexuality.
That is equivalent to "love the sinner, hate the sin".
Don't know why a Christian would disagree with you.

he doesn't seem to think that the sinner should be punished by the law for engaging in thseir sin, at least when it comes to homos

what do you think?

I'm wondering how you think you are to be punished for the sins you still commit.

i'll take that to mean "no, i do not think that homos should be punished for engaging in homosexual sex"

how about pornographers?

adulterers?

child molesters?

rapists?

murderers?

Of course you do, that's how you operate.

And I'll take your answer to mean that the sins you still commit are OK with GOD.
That's how I operate.

This is fun!

i don't still commit sins
Oh.
Is that why you are saved, because you stopped all your sinning in the flesh?
Cool.
Unfortunately, that would be merited and is not grace.
Grace is unmerited favor.
So why do you conclude that some sinners must merit grace to be saved, or stay saved?

Jesus said some men are 'eunuchs' from birth. This might indicate some have homosexual orientation before being physically born.

For an extensive documented study on 'eunuchs' See:

Thesis: Eunuchs are Gay Men

Eunuchs are men who have been castrated or who are celibate/unable to have relations for whatever reason. Lets humor it being gays though, in the same passage where Jesus said that some were that way from birth, He also says that all those who cannot accept marriage being male and female were to remain celibate. It included the eunuchs.

Matthew 19:12 because some men are celibate from birth, while some are celibate because they have been made that way by others. Still others are celibate because they have made themselves that way for the sake of the kingdom from heaven. Let anyone accept this who can."

You have a choice, marry (man and woman)(matthew 19 being about marriage and divorce where Christ defined marriage clearly and its intent) or remain celibate. Thats also backed up here:

1 Corinthians 7:2 But because of sexual immorality, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband.

This is noted by others,...why any would choose homosexuality or transgenderism in the face of prejudice, bigotry and persecution within society.

While that makes a nice appeal to emotion, it makes a poor argument, its like saying why would anyone choose to be a pediphile, adulterer, murderer, or rapist? Surely those things would cause prejudice, and persecution in society.

They choose them because they loved their sin more than they love God and the love of the truth. They prefer the darkness, and in the sin of homosexuality specifically, men are given over to it, its a form of punishment - see Romans 1:24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves

This is a study in itself, whether brains of homosexuals or transgendered persons are different than heterosexual persons. But here we must consider the brain/mind connection,...for 'mind' or 'soul' is the immaterial aspect or essence while the brain is but the physical organ thru which such a mentality is expressed. So,...homosexuality/transgenderism is essentially psychological, yet physiological as well, since you cannot separate mind from body, and the spiritual/energetic components therein.
No, we must consider what God says about it. Hes clear on it.

Does driving a school bus drunk become ok, because science shows a link that alcholism is genetic? Should we change laws to make drunkeness ok because they cant help how they were born?

Like it or not, there is no good argument for what God clearly defines as sin, there is no allowance under any argument for homosexuality. Its very practice is a punishment.

if i chose to rape or murder or molest children, should i be punished?

If you choose to look on a woman with lust in your heart, should you be punished?

Matthew 5:27 You have heard that it was said, ‘Do not commit adultery.’ 28 But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman to lust after her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

You have.
You have concluded that the homo must stop his sin to be saved.
Or are you now realizing that they don't have to stop sinning to be saved BY GRACE any more than you had to stop sinning to be saved?

You already have.
