Chapter 1 - Peter W. Smith, a Republican operative, organized a group prior to the Presidential Campaign, in an effort obtain those missing e-mails that they believed Russian hackers had stolen from Hillary Clinton's private server!
Those in the group were under the impression that Smith was working for general Flynn, a senior member of the Trump Campaign and future National Security Advisor!
The Wall Street Journal reports: Before the 2016 presidential election, a longtime Republican opposition researcher mounted an independent campaign to obtain emails he believed were stolen from Hillary Clinton’s private server, likely by Russian hackers.
Eric York, a computer-security expert and member of the group tasked with searching "hacker forums" on Smith’s behalf stated that he said "’m talking to Michael Flynn about this—if you find anything, can you let me know?’"
The group considered Mr. Flynn and his consulting company, Flynn Intel Group, to be allies in their search.
Peter Smith died on May 14, 2017, 10 days after he gave his one and only public interview concerning Hillary's e-mails!
The White House and Flynn haven’t respond to requests for comment.
