Colorado Springs Shooting Suspect Faces Murder, Hate Crime Charges

So you don't know how much easier it is to be fast and accurate with a rifle compared with a handgun.

I know, from his account you posted, which I watched most of, but not all, that when he took up position he was about 20 yards away, which is within effective range for a handgun. I know also that when he and the driver who chased the killer caught up to the killer who had had crashed his vehicle, he was able to lay that rifle on the hood of the truck. Definite plus there.

I'm not saying he made a bad choice. At all. I'm saying it wasn't the only choice *for most people in most situations* because most people are carrying handguns in public, not rifles - which is in response to your false dilemma: that there was no choice between an AR 15 and "harsh language." You're making it sound like only an AR 15 could've worked in this situation. He was lucky, he was at home, where his AR 15 was. Unless he carried it with him everywhere, even into church, in which case I'd concede the point, but if he'd been sitting in one of the pews in that church that Sunday, it's pretty likely he would've had a handgun on him if anything. And I'm sure, given the salt of the earth kind of man he seems to be, if he'd had a handgun only, he would've gone after the killer the same. The guy is a hero.

To teach how to properly use rifles.

Duh.

Thanks for the correction
How long before you think she figures out the VAST majority of murders and mayhem are committed with handguns and starts fussing about how nobody has the need to have a gun on their person...Except for state-approved persons of course.

I thought I had read at the time that guns we're not allowed at churches in Texas. I guess I missed that there was an exception for concealed carry.

Can you conceal carry an AR?

I was just watching a video on parlor guns that shoot the 22 CB cap cartridge, primer only no gunpowder. On a whim I went searching for 22 caliber AR-15 and oh my look what I found 😂

He testified that to that effect. That if he hadn’t had to take the time to get the rifle out and grab rounds (I think he took 8 rounds), that he could‘ve saved more lives And that’s why those 90 seconds haunt him and he’ll never keep his rifle in a safe again. It’s a tough thing for me to decide between having a loaded shotgun, an empty shotgun with shells in close proximity or a shotgun that’s locked up which isn’t gonna help me when I need it. So I follow the law for my state and when kids are in the house it’s locked up. And hope I don’t need it while kids are in the house.
I'm glad you're right-wing enough to own a firearm. I can't get my liberal sister to even think about it.

Does that mean you moved to the left or the right?

To the left. When I joined TOL in 2009 I was a right-winger (as in Obamas's birth certificate conspiracy right-winger, to my everlasting disappointment in myself) but it seems that right-wing today is so much more radical than right-wing in 2009, but maybe not. Maybe just more of the same, just more amplified. At the time I was in the middle of it and couldn't see it clearly until I was outside of it. Thanks to TOL.

Don't you think the left wing is also more radical today than in 2009? For example, leftists used to say, "Although I disagree with what you say, I will defend to the death your right to say it." But today they want people they disagree with to be deplatformed.

No, actually, I don’t. Your side is worse. I think far right MAGA insurrectionists want people like me dead.
