Listen I'm pretty good with my handgun. At 25 yards I could put 4-of-5 shots on a man's head, and 5-of-5 all day long on his torso. And I mean fast. In five seconds or less.
But would I prefer a rifle even at this close a range?
YES YES YES YES! EASILY. I would always WAY WAY WAY prefer a rifle to a handgun if I had to defend innocent people against a murderer. A handgun is always just a stopgap, its primary use is to fight your way to your rifle.
