Robert says that no one can obey until we are given our new bodies.
Don't know where he said that so cannot comment on it.

Then Christ died in vain. Yeah, I know, you will not understand. Oh, well.....
God did not nail obedience to the cross. And why would you think James and Peter would think Jesus died in vain? They are the ones who straighten out people for thinking that is what Paul teaches. Peter says people are insane and ignorant, and James says they are fools.

I know what Robert said and you are the one who joined in and commented on something I said to him.
...[T]he names have to be found written in the book.
You will have to do better than that.
Possibly, could this be your mere opinion on the matter?
The law was nailed to the cross. The law is the very nature and character of God. Jesus is the law of God incarnate in human flesh. The Jews took the law and the ordinances and came up with over 600 laws and rules to follow. Which is the Torah. The reason that the law was nailed to the cross was because it was contrary to us, no one can keep it or do it, Colossians 2:14. To be under the law or to be subject to the law is to be under a curse, Galatians 3:10. To be under the law or to be subject to the law is to be judged by the law and condemned.
No, God did not nail Jesus’ words to the cross and He did not nail our having to obey Him to the cross.Absolutely He did. But again, it will go over your head.
Hahahahahahahahaha It is my saying what God and Jesus says we have to do.No, James and Peter did not think Jesus died in vain. You think that, because you keep on saying that YOU, gt, have TO DO something to be SAVED.
And they are right, and you, gt, should listen to them.
Why won’t you answer the question? Tell us what it is about, what is it that Peter was referring to when he says people misunderstand Paul? Answering that question will destroy your teachings. That is why that question is avoided by faith aloners.
Be more specific please. Thank you.
Okay. Peter in 2 Peter 3 tells us that people misunderstand Paul. Tell me what it was specifically in Chapter 3 that people misunderstand Paul about.
Reading in context Peter is warning not to believe everything you hear about the Lord taking too long in returning. Scoffers simply did not accept that Paul was saying that Jesus Christ is going to return because so much time has passed and He has not returned yet.
Scoffers/sneers ALWAYS scoff at God’s Word. They WILLFULLY reject God's Word.
They (the scoffers/sneers = rejecters of Jesus Christ and His finished/completed work on the Cross of Calvary) want to do whatever they want and NOT what the Word says; therefore, scoffers twist God's Word.
Scoffers/sneers not only have an intellectual problem but also a moral problem with God’s Word and scoffers/sneers reject the Word making their own way of salvation. Scoffers say, 'Paul can't possibly be right that Jesus Christ is going to return. Look how long has passed and Jesus Christ still has not returned.' [I hear this all the time from some people I know personally or indirectly.]
There will be scoffers/sneers in the last days, under the gospel, men who make light of sin, and mock Jesus Christ and His finished/completed work at the Cross of Calvary to be saved.
Scoffers/sneers produce their own way of salvation rejecting what is clearly written in God's Word.
Scoffers/sneers twist what Paul is saying about the return of the Lord because what Paul says does not fit with what scoffers/sneers, want.
Psalm 55:19 -- “What he never has done, they fancy he never can do, or never will do”. (2 Peter 3:5-10)
Conclusion: In this chapter Peter is saying that scoffers/sneers reject Jesus Christ and His finished/completed work on the Cross of Calvary and all that it entails.
Good post. There are a lot of scoffers on the Forum. GT is one of them, he does not believe, Romans 3:23.
You are one of those scoffers. You reject the Saving death of Christ!
Salvation is a two way street. God provides and we receive. If you don't receive, it is not yours.

All fall short is right. All need Jesus to save them is right. Whether you are Jew or Gentile we all fall short. How do you ever get that means you do not have to take instructions from Jesus on how to get saved?
