You maybe are not seeing that you are trusting that your refusal to deny Christ for the sake of your childs life would please God. Just as those who offered their daughters and sons to Molech as a burnt offering in hopes it is pleasing to their god.
I have reasons for this faith though. It's not faith in my refusal to deny Christ, it's faith in God to take care of my daughter. So, instead of denying Christ, I would have the faith to cry out to God to save my daughter in such an instance. But, if God did not save my daughter, I have faith that she would be well taken care of until I joined her in heaven.
Here are just a few of the reasons I have faith enough to refuse to deny Christ:
Romans 1:17
For therein is the righteousness of God revealed faith to faith: it is written, the just shall live by faith.
Romans 5:1-2
Thereby being justified by faith, we have peace in God through our Lord Jesus Christ; By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
Romans 10:17
Faith comes through hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
I Corinthians 2:5
That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of man, but in the power of God.
I Corinthians 10:13
One of my favorites
There hath no temptation taken you but such is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above what you are able; but will with the temptation make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
I Corinthians 16:13
Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.
Ephesians 2:8
For by grace, ye are saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God.
II Thessalonians 3:2-3
Another favorite
That we be delivered from unreasonable wicked men, for all men have not faith. But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you, and keep you from evil.
Hebrews 11:1
Favorite verse about faith
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
