These are NOT the same gospel

What does Paul say? Romans 1:13-15 Now I would not have you ignorant, brethren, that oftentimes I purposed to come unto you, (but was let hitherto,) that I might have some fruit among you also, even as among other Gentiles. I am debtor both to the Greeks, and to the Barbarians; both to the...

Paul did not write Hebrews; we do not know who did

Yes, indeed. I'm sure that word got out to Jews everywhere, and Paul probably made sure it was sent to the scattered....through Peter probably.

Paul did not write Hebrews; we do not know who did

    Oh yeah, I get it now. You're absolutely right. It can't be Paul or the 12. 3 How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;

Paul did not write Hebrews; we do not know who did

Absolutely. Wait. I'm not sure about that.

Paul did not write Hebrews; we do not know who did

Yeah, you're right about Peter, James, and John, but why didn't they mention their own names like they did in their letters? Or did they. I'm having a mental lapse here. Yes, it's definitely looking for a near future coming of the Kingdom. Maybe Paul thought if he signed his name, they'd...

I never talk to Jesus or the Holy Spirit

And why would we put ourselves under any law, especially when the Spirit interprets our groanings? Romans 8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be...

Beloved57 are you sure you’re chosen?

Sadly, the catholic church keeps people from ever hearing the simple gospel of grace. Without which, in this age, is the only way to salvation. I was a catholic, went to catholic school, did all the rigmorole and had NO idea we could be saved by grace. Most other churches now days are no...

I never talk to Jesus or the Holy Spirit

Paul is not speaking of the inability of a person who walks according to the spirit, but of those who willfully walk according to the flesh. Which is why Paul tells us to reckon ourselves dead to sin. Because we are dead to sin, and do not have to give in to the lusts of the flesh. We are...

Paul did not write Hebrews; we do not know who did

I have a grandson who will love this. He's really into drawing eyes.

Paul did not write Hebrews; we do not know who did

Okay, well and good. Let's put Paul aside for just a minute and talk about the writer's intent. God has a plan for Israel, as well as for the body of Christ. There will be Jews, saved under the kingdom gospel (if they endure to the end). And this message in Hebrews is for those who have...

Paul did not write Hebrews; we do not know who did

Ah, I knew it. The Little Flock. Determining the audience is an important task for dispensational Bible study. The book of Hebrews hosts so large a controversy over the author that the audience is often overlooked. Just as important as the author in determining application is the audience...

These are NOT the same gospel

Romans is called the Romans Road for a reason. Paul was teaching what had been revealed by the Risen Lord about the Jews and the gentiles. All kinds of gentiles from all periods of time. Paul also talks about gentiles only under the law of their conscience. He does the same with the Jews...

Would you stop? I haven't had a chance to look at this with fresh eyes. ;)

Great point. And Paul was more than explicit about Jesus being the Creator God.

These are NOT the same gospel

Paul is addressing the fact that salvation, the kingdom, and the promises have always been for the Jews. What happened when Jesus and the Apostles came upon gentiles? They were ignored...with a very few exceptions. After the sheet incident, gentiles were to be included. Not into the body of...

I never talk to Jesus or the Holy Spirit

Paul had constant communication with the Risen Son of God.

I never talk to Jesus or the Holy Spirit

Paul was speaking as someone under the law...who was still carnal. The law of sin and death. That is not the present Paul who can do all things though Christ. If you go on you'll see this. Romans 8:2-4 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin...

I never talk to Jesus or the Holy Spirit

Even that spirit baptism that Peter saw was not about being indwelt by the Holy Spirit. It was only about the Holy Spirit coming upon people like days of old. That was totally different than being indwelt and sealed by the Spirit upon our belief in Paul's gospel.

1 Cor 1:17 and false Christians

Exactly, and that's the reason Christ agreed to be baptized...to fulfill all righteousness of the LAW concerning His priesthood. These continual "washings" (water baptism) were always for the Jews as part of the law. We are no longer under the law.

1 Cor 1:17 and false Christians

What? It's not believe and be circumcised -- believe and repent --believe and be baptized -- believe and confess your sins ---believe and tithe ten percent --- believe and forgive your enemies -- believe and sell all you have -- believe and endure to the end? We're to add NOTHING to the...
