Hi, She contacted me and said pretty much what I am also feeling. A sort of dreary malaise has taken over this board. I gave her my gmail so that we may keep in touch.

My granddaughter got a sinus infection for a couple of days, and then she gave it to my daughter and her husband who is really taking it hard.

Kids tend to have great immune systems when they are just preschool age.

So how's Jack doing? I hope he's continuing to improve.

No, no knowledge of him at all. I don't recall hearing the radio much in the car as a child.

I don't know if my parents didn't listen to it much, or if it was drowned out by my five siblings. :chuckle: (Couldn't have been me, so I didn't include myself. )

I remember those days too. We had a station wagon and my brother and I would lie on our backs on an opened-up sleeping bag and look up at the night sky. Sames.

I remember riding in the back of my dad's truck, too. Thinking about it makes me shudder now, considering what could have happened. People just didn't concern themselves with things like seatbelts back then.

And Moon River has sentimental memories for me. My mom had a beautiful voice and I can remember her singing that when I was young. Also, I have a photo of my late dad leaning on a wall looking at the Mississippi River that I took when I traveled with him once back in the 90's. I love that photo.

It's hot here, not as humid as you get, but the usual August humidity that they call "monsoonal flow from Mexico." It flows up bringing the occasional thundershower to the mountains and desert, but all we usually get is a line of beautiful thunderheads in the distance above the peaks. Been hovering in the mid to upper 90s, low 100s for the last couple of weeks, and I'm really ready for fall. Last year we didn't really have a fall, we had a long extended summer that went right into December, a mild winter and an early spring. I want some crisp cool weather, and I want it now.

:chuckle: I'm not sure what was going on. Almost no sleep for a few days and allergies trying to turn into a sinus infection likely. No antibiotic though, so the doc wasn't alarmed.

I was so tired last night I fell asleep in the study and woke up in bed without remembering how that happened. :shocked:

Why did you need a steroid shot? Have you got the same respiratory problems as Jack?

I hope you've all gotten some rest and little Jack is bouncing back in the way kids do.

He is a young healthy fellow. I'm praying for his recovery! And praying for mom and dad's pain too!
