It helps to see wonder in another child's eyes and brings back to me something meaningful and worthy of celebrating the Birthday of Our Lord and Savior by bring some of His joy to others. My daughter has asked to do something similar this Christmas. I need to find a family that has some special need so would appreciate prayer for one of those special appointed meetings that God would arrange. -Lon

The mother wasn't a disciplinarian so getting her kids to bed was difficult and while I was shopping with the boss, I saw the Homestar Grandpa Time Storytime Clock. With all the cassettes, it was a bit expensive, but It was neat because it told the kids to get ready for bed so Grandpa time could tell them a story. He encouraged them to wash up, brush their teeth, and get in their PJs. In the morning a rooster crowed and he said "get up lazyheads" or some such. We were supposed to be anonymous in giving, but the boss couldn't help himself. I'm glad on this particular because it was neat hearing her tell us it worked just like I thought it would: They got excited and all washed up, brushed their teeth, and got into bed without protest, and woke up the first couple of days, anyway, ready for school.

Thanks for sharing him until the grandkids... Really appreciate that! One Christmas my boss talked me into buying presents for a family whose father had gone to prison. I really didn't need talking into it, but because my $ is 'our' money I had to get permission.

I love re-living childhood thru my children's eyes....now for the grandchildren though....at 18 19 and 22 a bit of the luster is on standby...

It's so ironic with the 'intelligence' bit in regards to all of them. Critical thinking and objective analysis are terms that don't register with all of the blinkers they've got on. They'd do very well in certain horse races though, as the horse...

Mindless pretty much sums them up. My mates kids would be embarrassed at the way they go on, not to mention others...
