no country has given more lives and money to protect this world from nazism, communism, and islamism
your pathetic thread is an insult to all those who gave there life for freedom which you don't understand or appreciate
We always have a bogeyman we're supposed to be afraid of. Fascism was real, even though we had many of our biggest businessmen making millions off of Germany's reign of terror and then off of our war effort. After WW2 it was the first time many businesses did not return to peacetime production. War became big business, and business had to be drummed up to sustain the industry. It was the birth of what Eisenhower named the military/industrial complex. Other businesses had difficulties with foreign laws and regulations. The military leaders need a justification for their existence, and always want bigger, more deadly toys that also need justification. The military industry grew and grew developing those bigger, more deadly toys for the military, and politicians stay in office if they can manufacture consent for a war against our present bogeyman by generating fear. The CIA did its job of stirring up the conflicts and manufacturing the public relations (fear). This is how empires are built. And behind it all is acquisition of wealth, typically through resources. Oil to run industry and transportation, minerals for industry and sale, lumber, food products, and now even water. It used to be diamonds, gold, sugar, latex, and pineapple plantations, now it's exotic minerals for electronics, oil (including pipelines), and as I said, water. Empires exploit weaker nations economically first, and if governments try and intervene the businesses involved request military intervention in the name of "our national interests". If we can replace their government with a puppet, even if they terrorize the population, we're satisfied. All it takes is to convince the U.S. population that our bogeyman is at work in the target nation.
I believe that sending our young to die for lies is more than an insult to them. It's criminal.
This is a ridiculously stupid post. I think America would be very happy to be at peace.
Most Americans would be happy to be at peace; America, the hegemonic Empire, views war as a means to an end.
