Obama said that Israel wants to be a democracy and so it can't also be a Jewish State. He said they can't have it both ways.
That is not supporting Israel.
Israel gets to have more Jews than any other religion and ethnicity because it is a Jewish country. Obama was against that.

Whatever differences they may or may not have had didn't stop a landslide majority of American Jews from supporting Obama's presidency, nor did it stop Israel from thanking Obama for his support after 8 years of his presidency. That being the case, can it be said that Obama "supported" Israel? Yes, I think that can be said.
