Seriously? I'm not even going down this absurd road with you. Your delusions are your own...don't expect everyone else to engage them.

I'm asking, do you think there is one type of slavery? If you are not being forced to work on a plantation in subhuman conditions don't call it slavery? Is that what you are saying?

there is a record of a former slave, in late 1700's Quebec, voluntarily re-entering servitude in order to marry his enslaved lover and live with her as man and wife, while both existed as the property of their owner

the history of slavery ain't all black and white

Don't tell Jose that. He thinks if you are not a minority on a whipping post, then you aren't a slave.

:rotfl:

Oh those poor business owners....voluntarily starting a business (of their choice), open to the public, making a profit, working as many or as little hours as they please, can close whenever they wish.....having to actually serve members of the public they may not like, even though they knew that going in?

Why.....that's exactly like slavery!!!

Idiots.

With you so far..

making a profit,

Even when it's against their will, as in this case.

working as many or as little hours as they please, can close whenever they wish.....

So she can say she doesn't want to work the hours required to do the gay wedding?

She can close when she sees gay people coming?

Problem solved then.

Thanks for the solution.

Like I said, this is why we have courts...to settle disagreements like this. And the courts have been and are ruling in favor of my side, so the rest of you are just going to have to find a way to deal with it.

Tyranny of the majority indeed. I hope you are proud of the violence you support.

Freedom must be tempered by the rule of law. Otherwise, the powerful are free to do as they please, while the weaker suffer the consequences. Freedom that is not equally limited, by the law, is called oppression. This is why the principal of equal justice for all is the mainstay of any "free" society. That you don't seem to understand this, is very worrisome.

How in the world does this case have to do with "oppression?"

:chuckle:
Take note:

Christian PureX - On the side of the gay couple

Heathen shagster - On the side of the religious lady

theologically liberal* "Christians" seem to want to go out of their way to side with the political left on these types of issues so as to "not be one of the bigots." I'm glad there are some non-Christians that respect the rights of Christians. I'm not surprised that there are some wolves in sheep's clothing that do not.

Majority? You think gays are the majority? :noway:

And the delusional hyperbole continues....tyranny, violence, slavery, worse than slavery!!!!

How long before we bump up against Goodwin's Law? :rotfl:

What rights has the florist lost?

The right to run his/her business according to his conscience.

Nor are they required to do so with you;

I never made the argument that they were.

that's why we have courts, to settle these sorts of disagreements. And guess what? The courts have been and are agreeing with me.

At the price of freedom ... something you do not value.

So unless you want to change society and gov't to stop that from happening, you're just going to have to find a way to deal with it.

:chuckle: I am not a florist. IF I were, and the couple insisted on being as obnoxious as you, they would certainly receive their arrangement.

It would be made in the same spirit that their demand was ...

:chuckle: Be careful what you wish for.

And where was this "right to run a business however you want" established?

At the price of freedom ... something you do not value.
So what would you prefer? A different system (i.e., something other than courts settling disputes)?

Yeah....I'm sure that'd be good for business.

:chuckle: Oh please. Bringing as much joy to spoiled brats by complying with their demand would bring a certain satisfaction to people who are as disgusted as I am the type of bullying you support.

I'm loving how you guys are framing this.

A customer going into a florist to buy flowers for a wedding is a spoiled brat who is bullying the shop owner. And if the shop owner is a bigot who is on the wrong side of the law and loses in court, well that's just tyranny, violence, slavery, WORSE THAN SLAVERY, and fascism!!

And you didn't answer...

Where was this "right to run a business however you want" established?

Jose, exactly who do you think you are fooling here? This has nothing whatsoever to do with rights but rather your personal grudge and vendetta towards Christian business owners.

I don't have to be a Christian to see your agenda and what this about.

I prefer a system where the business owner is allowed to decide what accounts and customers they wish to accept, as well as which PRODUCTS they wish to supply.

Now back to my original statement:

So I can open a pornography, liquor, and marijuana store next to a school, right?

And I'm still not clear on your position regarding our court system. Do you want to keep the current system, or replace it with something else?
