The United Nations is a loose confederation of many countries, and the United States are a strong federal Union of many (50) countries.
Instead of the UN, the US should open for business, offering to annex more countries to the Union. Eventually the UN would dissolve, and the US would replace the UN entirely.
Your Constitution is a stumbling block, even if a few nations would take that bitter pill for a clear run at the US markets.
For one, it leaves the main policy decisions to the Supreme Court trying to interpret a loosely written constitution that is full of ambiguity. Worse, though, is the failure to prevent the Congress being bought out by large corporations in a way that would be simply illegal is many other nations. It seems corrupt to allow that to happen, but the population seem almost powerless to prevent it, even there is a big majority to change the system.
No, the US Constitution has some good features, but as a product of people, and people from a different age at, it is looking its age now. US Constitution 2.0 is long overdue.
