It's more damning evidence against them. It makes their story seem even less possible. When you're a first degree human rights violator, it's difficult to give them the benefit of the doubt. Beyond bone-chilling. Those regimes wouldn't be 100 years old today if they survived. America's regime is 231 years old this year, at least, if you start at 1791 which is when the Constitution with the full Bill of Rights was ratified. 233 if without. And 246 if you start at the Declaration of Independence, which still isn't where universal male suffrage began in America, that goes back to the 1600's.

Something like 200-300 years before the UK ever bothered to extend the franchise universally to all Englishmen.
