Trump Laments Memorial Day Drivers Facing High Gas Prices

When will ignorant Americans learn? If crooks are given power in politics then prices will be going up, especially on the poor.

Former President Donald Trump weighed in on gas prices as millions of Americans travel for Memorial Day weekend, saying that it’s a “shame” that they’re considerably higher than they were a year ago.
“I’m sorry to say the gasoline prices that you will be confronted with are far higher than they were just a short number of months ago where we had gasoline under $2 a gallon,” Trump said in a statement. “Remember as you’re watching the meter tick, and your dollars pile up, how great of a job Donald Trump did as President.”

Yep, gas prices were lower a year ago when the Covid pandemic was running rampant in the US. If you like, you can have President Trump take 'credit' for that.

Gee, I wonder what was going on a year ago that caused gas prices to be lower than they are now? Oh, right, there was a shutdown due to the pandemic. I forgot. Gas prices do tend to go down when most people aren't traveling much, and then they go back up when the economy is active. Correlation/causation?

Biden vowed to shut down oil and gas to save the planet, not knowing he would be depressing the economy and driving up the cost of fuel and goods through the roof, which is especially hard on poor people.

Fossil fuels are the fuels of the past. Alternative, renewable, "green" sources of energy are the fuels of the future. That's called progress. I know you reactionaries hate change so much that you hate it even if it's change for the better, but it's coming whether you like it or not.

Past and present, but coal for example is on the decline and nothing can stop that.
At the moment it's called speculation and wishful thinking.
Fusion energy is on the horizon. It's not mere speculation or wishful thinking, it's in the works right now. There's also hydrogen and battery technology that is advancing by the day.
But hey, go ahead and book a flight on an electric airplane
In due time.

Rich democrats think the rest of the country can afford to live in poverty as the country tries to transition into very expensive, less efficient, and hardly practical elitist fossil fuel alternatives to oil and gas.

Not until they can achieve the energy storage density of carbon based fuels

Biden and the dumbacrats favor shutting down oil and gas and forcing the nation into reliance on energy sources that require increased mining of hazardous chemicals using slave labor and result in short-lived energy sources which create huge stockpiles of hazardous waste in short periods of time.

Rich republicans think the rest of the country can afford to live in poverty all the time. That's why they have opposed every program to help the poor that has ever been brought into existence.

Rich republicans also think that the rest of the country, and the whole world for that matter, can afford to live in the pollution that fossil fuels cause to our environment.

Rich democrats will not give a dime to the poor but they think they please God by confiscating unfair amounts of funds from working Americans to augment trillions of un-backed printed dollars to throw at the poor in hopes that will solve poverty.

... and has been for decades
Hydrogen, small modular nuclear reactors, fusion, solar, wind, advanced efficient battery storage...it's all on the table and will be here in increasing numbers in the years and decades to come. Sorry for your loss.

Hydrogen,
Fuel cell?
Never happen
small modular nuclear reactors,
Fission - yes, promising. But they produce electricity and battery technology is lagging.
fusion, solar, wind,
All dependent on ...
advanced efficient battery storage...
... which is nowhere near the capability of carbon based energy storage
it's all on the table
Which table is that?
and will be here in increasing numbers in the years and decades to come.
Of course
In the meantime, we have to rely on carbon
Sorry for your loss.
No idea what you're talking about

We used to heat with coal. I miss it. It had an ambience that my current kerosene heater lacks.
I wouldn't mind a whole house battery, combine that with a natural gas generator for power outages and I wouldn't look back.

But in all seriousness if you get a tip about obtaining some coal---China wants to hear from you.

Gasoline pump prices clearly remained below $3.00/gal and even fell below $2.00/gal under Trump's first 2 years with full republican support in the House and Senate. Gasoline prices rose to over $3.80/gallon under Obama, and are again climbing back up over $3.00/gallon under 'Kill Oil and Gas" Biden and leftist socialist democrats.
