It wasn't until the 16th century that the Protestants---to prop up their newly-invented theology---removed these books from their printings of the Scriptures. Of course, they had no authority whatsoever to do so, but that's just the Protestant way, isn't it.

This reference in the atechism of the Catholic Church has always bothered me. It says that there is no better way than to look to Mary: "After speaking of the Church, her origin, mission, and destiny, we can find no better way to conclude than by looking to Mary," (CCC 972). The unfortunate psychological effect of saying that Roman Catholic tradition is what gave us the Bible is that it elevates their tradition to a level far greater than what is permitted in Scripture. In fact, it is contradicted by Scripture:
