The AENT John 8:13

I understand. This was taken from Gabriel Roth's translation. I prefer David Bauscher's translation. It chronologically follows our English translations.

Great, you got the AENT.

Consider that Christ is the right Arm of his Father. He spoke the words his Father gave him.
I also consider that Christ was in the world that was created through him in the OT.

I love the notes in the AENT. That is what takes time to digest.

Yep, what do you think about the OP question?

Yep, what do you think about the OP question?

It fits my thoughts. I do see Christ, the spirit son, in the Garden of Eden. I wish the same folks from the AENT did the OT also. Christ was active in the OT. He is part of the we/us/our in Genesis.

Did you notice that Yochanan 8 has eleven verses omitted?

Interesting that the Eastern Church does not have them in their M/S but the Greek do.
These verses are not in the earliest M/S's.

Love the notes.

Yes, the passage of the woman caught in adultery is very controversial.

This verse says that the Lord Jesus from heaven spoke to Saul in the Hebrew tongue:

Act_26:14 And when we were all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice speaking unto me, and saying in the Hebrew tongue, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.

Aramaic comes from the Hebrew. Jesus spoke them both.

The AENT comes from the Aramaic-Peshitta Text with Hebrew Translation.

The AENT is the newest Aramamic translation.

Worth the $40 just for the notes.

Deut. 32:39 KJV

See now that I, even I, am he,
and there is no god with me:
I kill, and I make alive;
I wound, and I heal:
neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand.

Isaiah 43 KJV

10
Ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord,
and my servant whom I have chosen:
that ye may know and believe me,
and understand that I am he:
before me there was no God formed,
neither shall there be after me.

11
I, even I, am the Lord;
and beside me there is no saviour.

12
I have declared, and have saved,
and I have shewed, when there was no strange god among you:
therefore ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, that I am God.

13
Yea, before the day was I am he;and there is none that can deliver out of my hand:
I will work, and who shall let it?

Isaiah 46 KJV

4 and even to your old age I am he;
and even to hoar hairs will I carry you:
I have made, and I will bear;
even I will carry, and will deliver you.

Isaiah 48 KJV

Hearken unto me, O Jacob and Israel, my called;
I am he; I am the first,
I also am the last.

No it is because Jesus and his Apostles spoke Aramaic. It was the regional language.

Okay, so that explains why Paul wrote to the congregations outside of Judea in Aramaic. Not because they spoke Aramaic but because Paul wanted them to speak the regional language of the Jews.

Well, good for him.

The area had many folks from many places, but Aramaic is what Jesus spoke.

Is that because he was speaking to those of the Jewish religion?

Paul being a Roman would have spoken Latin, Greek, Hebrew, and Aramaic from his time in Judea.

Did Jesus speak Aramaic?
It is generally agreed that Jesus and his disciples primarily spoke Aramaic, the common language of Judea in the first century AD, most likely a Galilean dialect distinguishable from that of Jerusalem. The towns of Nazareth and Capernaum in Galilee, where Jesus spent most of his time, were Aramaic-speaking communities.
