Take away Americans guns

Once we decided that killing children in grade school was an acceptable price to pay so that any moron or lunatic that wants a gun can get one, we crossed over into a degree of selfishness and stupidity that is unprecedented. No tragedy, now, will matter enough to inspire common sense gun regulation. Greed, selfishness, and stupidity have won the day, and control the nation. And the Christian right has been marching in it's parade from the start.

'Killing children in grade school'- these emotional catchphrases and incidences are what drive anti-gun advocates.

Cars kill more children than shootings. In fact, the number of children who die from shootings is extraordinarily low- but you use these incidences to justify disarming an entire nation of people.

Cars are not guns. Cars are useful tools with a purpose other than killing people. People need cars to get around. And no one uses a car to deliberately kill children.

Guns have no other purpose but to kill people. And very few of us have need of them as a tool. And because they make killing people so fast and easy, we really need to be very careful who we allow to have them, and why.

But this is just common sense. Which has been soundly rejected by the political and religious right. Because the gun manufacturers have been tickling their fear and ego for so long that they now think they all have to have piles of guns. And that there should be no laws regulating the ownership or use of these guns.

To see just how insane this really is, imagine a world full of automobiles, that anyone could buy and drive away in for just a few dollars. And society having no traffic laws, or signs, or stoplights, or anything at all regulating who's driving where, or how.

And the Mooselimbs like to blow things up with bombs.

This is a total misunderstanding. The right is very involved in education and safe-use and strategic use in the case of chaos etc.

The Clackamas OR mall shooter was stopped by people who carried and only 4 others died rather than the carnage of one of these standoffs.

You are advocating fighting violence with more violence. The abuse of guns with more guns. This is in no way a Christian ideal. Nor is it even sensible. Yet it is the stance of the religion right.

They are liars, fools, and phonies.

...

This all comes from viewing gun ownership as a "right". Nobody views car ownership that way.

So you are a pacifist I take it? Someone can physically attack you and/or your loved ones and you will not resist with "violence"?

He likely won't answer honestly. Note all the hypocritical anti-2A libs over the years who are discovered to be packing. Wouldn't be at all surprised he's one.

Anyone has the right to own a car. We just don't have the right to use them however we please, because they are dangerous. With the right to own a motor vehicle comes the responsibility to use them safely. That's why we regulate the ownership and use of motor vehicles.

And motor vehicles weren't designed to kill people. Guns are. So owning a gun comes with even MORE responsibility toward the public's safety. And yet as a society we are not living up to that responsibility. We are not regulating the ownership and use of these deadly weapons wisely, or barely at all.

And there's the Christian right, marching at the head if the dangerous irresponsibility parade, working to keep deadly weapons available to even the most irresponsible among us, simply because their egos have been tickled and now they think their right to be insanely irresponsible cannot possibly be infringed upon by collective common sense.

If cooks can not get guns, then they will use bombs. Then what?
