THE ‘bar’ is not being trump OR a member of the Insurrectionist Party.
The Democrats are above that bar. But it does not appear that Biden will last to the end of his term. Expect President Harris sooner rather than later.

Meh, Joe could wear a pink tutu and tap dance to “Maniac” and he would still be 100% more competent and sane than Former Guy.
Joe the Rapist could preside over the Kung Flu deaths of 580,000 Americans, and you'd look the other way.

Or this:

CDC: Fentanyl overdoses now leading cause of death for Americans 18 to 45

I disagree. He’s old, but so was Reagan and Trump. The difference: Biden and Reagan both have the added support of wives who loved the country and supported their husband’s physical and mental health.

You know who needs to resign is Senator Feinstein. RBG, may she rest in peace, should have resigned when President Obama was in office. There should be an age limit for the SC and for Congress, and even for the presidency.

I think President Biden will make it through this term, but Democrats would do well to have someone else ready for 2024.

There's something extremely suspicious and bazaar about people who refuse to enjoy their retirement years and instead stay in office until they go senile and drop dead of old age. Strom Thurmond is another one who did that. His aids ran his affairs because he was so senile he had no clue what was going on.

In RBG's case, the consequences of that were massive. And you're right, Feinstein needs to go, big time.

A few ideas that aren't suspicious or bizarre:

Some problems with the politician:
Ego. They like their personal power, the power of the office, and being adjacent to the power of others.
They're in denial of their decline.

Some problems with the people around the politician:
They knowingly prop up the politician, and cover for them, so things seem better than they are.
Parties know a popular incumbent will get reelected, it's safer than facing an open seat so they keep kicking the can down the road. In Feinstein's case, they've been talking about her problems for a long time, they've needed to do something about it for too long now.

Some problems with the electorate:
If they like the politician, they don't see a reason for change.
They see older as wiser, more experienced, and this is true - until the frailties of age diminish the wisdom and experience to the point where it does damage.

I really don't see California ever electing a Repub senator, I don't think Senator Feinstein and Justice Ginsberg are parallels. I don't think you have to worry.

Being a good orator and communicator are important for the President. However, the crystalized intelligence of older persons serves the other duties of office very well. Deliberative decision-making is more important than small short-term memory gaffes. Biden is infinitely better than Trump, but that is not saying much.

I expect Biden to complete his term competently, but a second term seems out of the question. Ideal scenario: nominate Harris for the next Supreme Court opening, move Budigeig in as Vice President. A Gay Xtian President is the best way to slap down Qanonians.

I am impressed with Biden recently. I was just listening to him respond to FOX and others about his statements about Putin. Biden dismantled their lame misinterpretations cogently and strongly.

Trump under similar circumstances got defensive, cut off tough questions, lodged insults, and refused to answer. He eventually banned CNN from the press room. What a Wimp!

Biden has demonstrated for decades the ability to cover his lies with more lies, and leftist rebels against God love it.

That … or make Bernie VP and then step down. If the Lying, Democracy-hating GOP wishes to continue the lies about socialism, let’s give ‘em one!

Bernie doesn’t give a rip about playing nice with the GOP. There should be no attempt for bipartisanship with the current basket of rightwing politicians.

My biggest complaint about Biden is he is too nice.
